The kids and I took a boat over to check it out, and we were not disappointed. Day 8/Part 2: What Disney trip is complete without a Mickey Ears Ice Cream Bar? And this was one of the first solid foods Chloe ever ate. A moment that will forever live in my heart, so whenever she eats one it brings back all of those feels, standing in Magic Kingdom and seeing her destroy the bar I bought for myself. Daddy then drove us to the pool as he headed home with Arlo to get set up for work. We played in the pool almost the entire afternoon! Mia made a new friend, so it was hard to pull her away and that’s just the way we want it! We grabbed a late lunch or lun-der as we call it before saying our goodbyes to one remarkable vacation. It has been such a long time for “this” kind of vacation, we had forgotten just how worth it it is. Universal/Disney Vacation: Day 8/Part 1: We’re BACK! No better place to be than a place that brings warm smiles and a love for animals! One more time for this trip, and it’s totally worth it! We’ve got a few more years until the girls will be ready for a trail ride, Disney style so we plan to take full advantage of this! Day 5/ Part 2: After lunch it was time to head over to the pool! The normal pool was closed for repair, but thank goodness they have two pools! We spent the rest of the day in the pool, soaking in ALL of the fun. Then it was time for dinner and someone, small and named Chloe may have passed out eating. But that didn’t keep her down, she woke back up in time for us to go to the fire pit to see Chip & Dale for their interactive games. Chloe was SUPER fussy. Thankfully Mia had a ball. Chip & Dale even cheered her on. The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort offers guests a unique camping experience in the heart of the WDW Resort. The resort compromises 700 wooded acres of cypress and pine forest and features around 800 campsites, each equipped with picnic tables, charcoal grills, and access to water and electrical hookups. The campsites available for guests are spread out on 21 camping loops and includes sites designed for tents, popup campers, full hookup sites and preferred or premium sites giving more room and a closer location to the amenities. It has been a dream to camp at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, but even after buying my own RV I really didn’t want the expense or hassle of traveling with it over 1,500 miles to WDW. Then I was introduced to RV Share. You can think of RV Share as an AirBnB, but for camping where you can rent someone else’s RV. There are many different RV choices to pick. For this trip I opted for delivery directly to the Campground at Disney’s Fort Wilderness so I didn’t have to worry with moving the unit around or setting anything up. I just wanted to arrive and checkin. Guests of the Campgrounds at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort can enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including horseback riding, fishing, and archery for a fee. Plus, the resort is just a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom entrance.One of my favorite things about this WDW Resort property was the private beach that over looked the Seven Seas Lagoon. Putting my feet in the sand and soaking in the warm Florida sunshine was a vacation in itself. In the evening from my same lounge chair I was able to watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and the Electric Water Pageant . Watching the 50th Anniversary WDW Electrical Water Pageant from the beach was truly a magical experience. Camping at WDW is a dream and you can have it too even if you don’t own a RV by using rvshare.com . No matter what type of RV you choose camping at WDW will be memorable and fun. Generally the cheapest way to stay on the Walt Disney World property is to get a tent site at Fort Wilderness. The tent sites are spacious and have electricity, a picnic table and a grill. The comfort station bathrooms are spotless. Fort Wilderness is a beautiful place and they have two pools, playgrounds, restaurants and lots of activities. There is a boat that takes you to the Magic Kingdom and buses take you to the other parks. 10 people are allowed to stay on each tent site and all of them would be entitled to the Disney resort perks such as early entry. So you can see how the per person charge will be very low. I have always, ALWAYS wanted to stay in the Cabins at Fort Wilderness at The Walt Disney World Resort and finally was able to make it happen!!! 🏕️ I now wish we would have stayed longer because we hardly had time to even scratch the surface of Everything there is to do just at the resort ALONE!! But this only means we shall return 😉 I mean the cabin itself beautiful, more that I imagine and so much space!!! Perfect for bigger families!!! You get a full kitchen with refrigerator, dish washer, microwave, 2 countertop burner. You can also rent your Own Golf Cart to get around 🛺 We were able to order groceries so each morning we were able to make breakfast🥞🍳. We always had snacks on hand for the kids during the day at the parks, we had our own waters, and also had a fridge full of night time snacks for those long park days! 🍟🍪 There’s multiple places to eat and they even have food trucks that come on certain days! You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from here and there’s an electrical Water parade! Magic Kingdom is just a short boat ride away which was so convenient, especially on the late nights after the park! 🚤 The never ending list of activities at the parks: ✨Chip N Dale Campfire Sing along ✨Multiple Pools ✨Movies under the Stars ✨Tri-Circle-D Ranch ✨Pony Rides ✨Wagon Rides ✨Bike Rentals ✨Playgrounds I mean the list goes on and on!! 🚨Long Post Alert . We had surprised my kiddos with Disney Annual Passes at Christmas time and had our first trip planned for the 1st weekend in January. We left our house and drove to our favorite resort- Fort Wilderness and set up our camper. Hours after we arrived we got a phone call that is a homeowners worst nightmare. Our entire downstairs of our home completely flooded. We instantly packed up and came back. . We had to spend 2 months in a long term rental and spent 3 months fighting with our insurance company before finally settling. The past few weeks we have finally started repairs and it has been so stressful. Hence why I've basically been a ghost on here. . We have been dying to get back tp Disney. Luckily we have another camping trip planned for memorial day but we got an unexpected opportunity for a date night in a few weeks. I immediately messaged my girl @elleandemsdays and she got us booked for a quick 1 night stay at Port Orleans. We have explored the resort before but never stayed there. If you made it this far I would love any and all recommendations for this resort!
Campgrounds at Fort Wilderness is a great intro to camping for families with kids 🏕 You can choose from a basic campground with hookups for water and electricity up to a full Cabin with amenities like a cooktop and full sized fridge 🏕 If you camp during holidays like Halloween and Christmas, most guests go “all out” and fully decorate their camp, making it fun for a walk or ride around the campgrounds 🏕 For those camping, don’t worry about bathrooms and showers. Have you ever camped at Disney World?? Did you even know you COULD camp at Disney World? Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds are on Disney property and even have their own boat transportion to Magic Kingdom (by the way, if you do camp at WDW, be sure to take the boat to Magic Kingdom at least once because it’s like a mini guided tour of Disney). Here are a couple of other camping at Disney tips: 1. Rent a golf cart through Disney! Golf carts are $63 per day and it’s a really fun way to get around the campground. Even if you only rent a golf cart for a couple of days while you camp, you’ll win big points with your kids. I think my kids liked the golf cart more than the parks 😂 2. Plan for non-fire meals. Only very certain fire pits are allowed at the campsites. Disney does not provide them. Sometimes you can get lucky and get one from someone who is leaving and doesn’t want to take theirs, but we planned on electric griddle meals or campstove meals. 3. Join a group on Facebook like “Fort Wilderness Campers”to ask questions and get tips from seasoned campers. They often post the current calendar with the activities everyday at the campground, so you can plan your days ahead of time. Keep in mind that some activities may not be happening due to current restrictions. 4. Book early. It’s Disney. It’s popular. I actually had to keep checking back and booked one or two nights at a time when the calendar would open up. 5. You can have up to 10 guests per site. It would be a tight squeeze, but you could potentially have a pop-up camper and a tent on the same site. What we thought: I was worried the campsites would be right on top of each other with little privacy, but we felt like there was plenty of space between us and the next campers. It’s definitely more pricey than staying at a local state park, but the bathrooms were so much nicer and it was a unique experience to camp and then go to the parks during the day. I highly recommend! We want to go back again!!
