So what's the difference between all the campsites?? Honestly.. not a lot! Each type has sites of all shapes and sizes. The biggest difference is that the 2 tent & pop-up loops do NOT have sewer! All sites are allowed up to1 RV + 1 Tent. Tent/Pop Up Sites have water and electric and can accommodate smaller campers/RVs. They have a paved pad with a gravel pad behind it. The 1500 loop was our FAVORITE when we had a PUP and hybrid. A step up is Full Hookup. Don't let this trick you! The other 4 site types ALL have sewer! Full hookup sites have W/E/S with a paved and gravel pad. Next is Preferred. Preferred sites are the 100, 200, and 300 loops closest to the Settlement. They are the original loops and can be tricky to get big rigs in. W/E/S with paved and gravel pads. The 100 and 200 loops are a super quick walk to the settlement where you can hop a boat at the marina, grab a bite to eat, play at the playground, or shop in the store. The 300 loop is a favorite among dog owners as the entrance to the loop is right by the dog park and playground. Premium & Premium Meadows are exactly the same except Meadows is closer to the Meadows area. After a couple of years in the pop up we decided it was time for a hard side camper and a slide out. I can’t express what a big difference this made with three teenagers! We could pass each other without anyone having to go outside, we could pull into a rest area and eat without having to setup. - 𝑶𝑺𝑷𝑹𝑬𝒀 𝑪𝑨𝑴𝑷𝑮𝑹𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑫 - 🏕️ We had an amazing 3 nights at this sort after campground. The Hosties were lovely as always and the toilets are so clean and tidy. There were bins which was amazing after having none for a week and the beach access was really close. We stayed at Site 6 which was close to the beach and also some picnic tables. 🐢We have realised that all of the different locations at Cape Range National Park have different things to offer. Osprey has the turtles! After looking for turtles each time we snorkelled Ningaloo Reef, within minutes of entering the water at Osprey, we found 5 turtles! 🥾 Apart from awesome snorkeling there are also two hikes at Cape Range National Park - Yardie Creek Gorge and Mandu Mandu. We did both in one day. The Yardie Creek Gorge walk was easy and we were able to comfortably do it with the kids in an hour. Mandu Mandu was a bit more difficult and it took about two hours for the 3km walk. It was nice to get out but can get hot, make sure you take plenty of water! Also if you do the walks first thing in the morning you are more likely to see the rare Black Flanked Rock Wallaby. 🐟While we weren’t successful with fishing ourselves, BJ helped a guy with his bogged car and we got rewarded with a share of a 5kg yellow fin tuna! Unser Schlafplatz für 6 Wochen Sommerroadtrip 🌞 Als Martin und ich uns kennenlernten wusste der tatsächlich nicht was der Unterschied zwischen Wohnmobil, Van, Wohnwagen und Anhänger ist. Er hat allen ernstes WOHNANHÄNGER gesagt. Für alle außerhalb der Camping Bubble: Unser Eriba Wohnwagen von 1988. Fuhr die letzten 30 Jahre jeden Sommer an die Atlantikküste Frankreichs zur Ile d'Oléron. Wurde von seinen Vorbesitzern super gepflegt und hat Platz für uns vier, eine kleine Küche und ein noch kleineres Bad. Man kann ihn von Hand ohne Probleme an den richtigen Ort schieben, weil er leicht und klein ist. So passt er auch auf italienische Straßen und bringt uns hoffentlich noch an viele zauberhafte neue Orte. Im Vergleich zu einem Van, den wir auch gern gehabt hätten, ist er in der Anschaffung und Versicherung um ein vielfaches günstiger. I took my middle son out for a hike and camping night at ”Trekking Park Sauerland” on the weekend, around 1,5 h drive from home. Wild camping is prohibited in Germany, but in this park you can book these nice camping platforms (they even have a composting toilet!) in advance and have them to yourself. I chose a platform with the shortest hike to get there, originally because I wasn’t sure of my sons motivation, but in the end I was very happy about it myself, since the hike was so steep in elevation, that I struggled to keep up with him. Because I was carrying the main load of equipment, food and all the water, the weight of my backpack had gone up to 19 kg, which is way too heavy for my physique and longer hikes. The weather, nature and views were just beautiful, I got to forage a bit to add to our food and we had a seriously nice time together, goofing around a lot! #camping #trekkingparksauerland #campingwithkids #outdoorfun

This weekend I camped with some of my homeschool families from my class Elemental Seasons. We went to Terry Tomalin Campground at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. After an initial confusing checkin (my fault) the weekend fun began!!!! Five families plus Brandy joined me! I wanted this event to bring connection to nature and each other while learning and having fun!! The weather was amazing!!!!! We cooked dinner in foil packets on hot coals. I first learned this technique in fifth grade camp in Michigan and then became better at it from Bob Linde! It was so good!!! The kids ate veggies happily!! We then made smores and went on a night hike. After some campfire storytelling which was adorable to hear stories from kids 3-8 years old, we went to bed. The next morning we cooked leftover vegetables from dinner in a cast iron wok! So delish! Sadly I had a family emergency and left the campsite earlier than expected, but this trip was so much better than I could have imagined!!! I literally can not wait to plan the next group camping!!
