⭐️TRIP REPORT⭐️ Hey everyone! For the next few days, I’m going to be recapping my recent trip to Walt Disney World! Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review was such a fun show with delicious food! It’s been over a decade since I’ve been here, and I was beyond excited to try it out again. The food is served family style, so come hungry! And the show is hilarious and so much fun to watch! ⭐️ The meal includes salad, cornbread, beans, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, barbecue pork ribs, fried chicken, and strawberry shortcake. Drinks are also included in the meal, but alcoholic drinks are extra. ⭐️ Currently there are three showtimes at 4 pm, 6:15 pm, and 8:30 pm. We went to the last show, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy all that Fort Wilderness had to offer! Had to show some love to one of my favorite Pixar movies for the return of Pixar Fest. Soul was released the same year I was diagnosed with my liver disease. Back then, my mental health was at an all time low. Convinced I was terminal with no time left to accomplish my goals in life. The movie hit me to the core. I emotionally connected to it in a way that’s hard to explain even now. But, my main take away was that being alive is special and it’s enough. Being present and enjoying life is my spark. One of the biggest draws to these resorts is the shared pool, Stormalong Bay pool. This is the best Disney Resort pool out of all the Disney Resorts, in my opinion and many of my Disney clients opinions. However, come January 2025, I will not be booking Disney’s Beach and Yacht club for my clients as the pool will be going through a big refurbishment through June of 2025. Illuminated (a series): Chandeliers and Light Fixtures around Disney WORLD property. We are back to showcasing one of my favorite details around Disney World property that doesn’t get enough love: chandeliers and lighting elements! Here is feature No. 15, from Steakhouse71 at The Contemporary Resort. I absolutely love these gold fixtures that offers a retro flair while still being fresh and modern. Be sure to reference back for the previous 14 I shared! . Admittedly, The Contemporary Resort has always been my least favorite of the Monorail loop/Magic Kingdom Area Resorts. Nothing here was a draw for me other than the location and some food offerings (namely, The California Grill). The ambiance was just NOT my cup of tea and I’m probably in the minority for feeling this way. To be frank, it feels more like a workplace than a resort; not exactly what I’m going for when on vacation. It’s always appeared very cold and sterile to me and if I wasn’t dining at California Grill, I’m likely just passing through. However, recently, they’ve made some aesthetic changes that have changed my mind (a little). For example, I love the updates they implemented here at Steakhouse71, which used to be The Wave: Flavors of America. In its previous form, I was never drawn to trying it, but boy has that changed since its revival! The recent visual updates are much more inviting and appealing, which piqued my interest in trying Steakhouse71’s menu. It has now easily become one of my favorite places to dine because the food is excellent and reasonably priced! This was our first time staying at the All Star Movies Resort. We had a preferred room on the 1st floor in building 4–right next to the pool! The location was really nice for walking but a little noisy until quiet hours. We loved the 101 Dalmatians theming and the pool was huge! Favorite features of our room were the Murphy bed and the under-the-bed storage. It was the perfect room for two of us. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus. It took about 18 minutes on average to get to Magic Kingdom, which was furthest away. The buses did tend to be crowded on our trips back in the evenings. The previous season felt like a chore when Princess rolled around, but this one was fun from start to finish! I'm gonna miss being there every race next year, but the break will be much needed! You can get them in a few different styles and man are they worth it. Casey went with the Sundae version, no surprise there! Good morning! Happy Monday! Today I'm highlighting Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Coronado Springs is a moderate tier resort that is often referred to as being just as posh as a Deluxe. The Tower building is absolutely gorgeous and offers some great views of fireworks from Hollywood Studios (located very very close), or views looking out toward the lake that the resort is centered around. There are other rooms in the exterior buildings that surround the lake. My last stay at this resort was in one of those rooms, which offered a nice amount of space for my family and even though we were out in Ranchos (the furthest section out) we had an amazing location close to the bus stop we utilized. We could see the buses arriving and leaving and were still far enough back that the noise was not an issue. This made it very convenient when it came time to head out to the bus. I also really enjoy the American Southwest/ desert theme of the Ranchos section with beautiful landscaping and blooming cacti. The other sections are Cabanas and Casitas, each with their own individual charm. The main pool features a Mayan pyramid with a very cool slide. There's also a pool bar, playground, and tables for ping pong and courts for volleyball. Last year Travel + Leisure ranked the Best U.S. Resorts for Families (ranked according to readers). There were a good amount of Disney resorts on the list, but let’s talk about the highest ranked at WDW. 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 🏨 🦒 • Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) was the highest ranked WDW resort on the list. The only other resort that made the list was Beach Club (BC). Funny enough AKL is my top choice for those who aren’t visiting the parks, and BC is my favorite WDW resort in general. But of the 20+ resorts at WDW, why AKL above all others. Well the predominant answer is described by the article as “a surreal sense of place”…… it’s the savanna of course! But more important than the savanna itself, in order to be ranked the 13th best family resort in the country, is how Disney utilized its savanna theming to create unique experiences. The diversity and nature (no pun intended) of these activities and experiences are what sets this resort above the rest. There are a variety of both animal and cultural activities that everyone in the family will likely enjoy. There are animal spotting activities (even ones that include night vision goggles), programs including helping prepare food for the animals, culinary tours, art tours, art and design classes like cookie decorating, etc. And most of these are guided and lead by an expert. This is a huge reason why I pick AKL as the best for a resort only stay. There’s so much to do and a lot of it is super educational in a fun environment. This is also why I love that the cultural representative program has returned to Disney World. Not even mentioned in the ranking description is how, in my opinion, AKL has the best overall dining lineup top to bottom - from pool bar to signature restaurant and everything in between. Obviously there’s room for debate there, but I think even the overall reviews of each and every dining option here are strong evidence of that. But yeah, Animal Kingdom Lodge…… if not for a stay, it’s a least worth a visit for sure.
