On the back of their rapid ascent in the wake of acclaimed 2022 debut ‘Cub’ which led them to selling out big venues on their first UK tour, and be hand-selected to support the likes of the Pixies and Fontaines D.C., the group are back with a punchy ten-track LP. Roping in award-winning producer Craig Silvey, the group avoid second album syndrome by switching their sound up, hearing them at their most aggressive, noisy, grungy, and brutish. Having recently returned to their home city, the album is steeped in themes of returns, renewal, and rebirth, with Crack Cloud here linking the literal and autobiographical, with the abstract and conceptual. Loaded with track-to-track variation, ‘Red Mile’ hears the art punks channel hooks-loaded trad punk and rock subversions with their most expansive and psychedelic songs yet. DINKED EDITION 297: Los Campesinos! - ‘All Hell’ Los Camp follow their Dinked Archive release of ‘Hello Sadness’ with their new full-length dropping on the series. The variant includes a red/black ‘Blood Galaxy’ variant, a signed/numbered risograph print, a deluxe lyric booklet with exclusive artwork and photos, plus foiling in the inners and liners. ‘All Hell’ is a strictly in-house effort, self-produced by band member Tom Bromley and released through the band’s own Heart Swells record label. Their first in over seven years hears the Welsh indie pop group at their most ambitious, approaching their third decade together as a band with assurance, blending newfound styles with the approaches of the best bits of their discography. Given their cult following, that it’s their first in ages, and the Archive edish flew out in about 48 hours, we don’t think this one will stick around for too long. Released this July.

DINKED EDITION 296: The Dream Machine - 'Small Time Monsters' Following a Dinked Edition pressing of their debut which flew out in no time, The Dream Machine return to the series with their second coming equipped with an exclusive variant, a 7’’, and a signed art print. The New Brighton quintet play a refined take on psychedelia, indie, and pop rock, with plenty of nods to The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s retro rock and fellow Wirral groups such as The Coral, whose James Skelly produced the LP. Packing a wide-range of inspirations including surf rock, 1950s music, cult film references, sun-drenched late 60s West Coast pop into three-minute, hook-laden tracks, 'Small Time Monsters' is yet another winner from the young UK group.

Writing a review on your phone, you're so educated // Bodega's latest release, Our Brand Could Be Yr Life, is not so much a *new* album, as it is a reimagining of their 33 track release of a similar name (swap Yr for Your) from 2015 - back when they were Bodega Bay. They've cut it down to 15 tracks, and from the sounds of it traded the "Mac with an internal mic" for a recording studio. Taking on consumerism, the content of the album remains as relevant 9 years on - but sometimes falls short of the mark in terms of impact. Sure, consumerism is rife, but they struggle to make a point beyond simply highlighting what we're all mostly aware of. That being said, it's a fun listen. They jump across genres consistently, there's post-punk (or whatever) moments, indie, a bit of pop-rock and a nod to shoegaze. G.N.D Deity is one of the strongest tracks, with Nikki Belfiglio taking over on lead vocals. Following the 2022 mini-album ‘Dreams, Pains & Paper Planes’, the West Lancashire-born, Liverpool-based musician is back with a partly self-produced record. Here she bridges brash pop with 90s alternative and indie rock styles plus production influenced by a number of dance styles.
