Leftfield - "Leftism" (1995) Today we talk about Leftfield, a British electronic music group considered among the most influential in the evolution of electronic music in the 90's, being at the top with artists like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. Many have spoken on Leftfield's music experimentations, and even a new word was coined when referring to their music, which is "Progressive House", a fusion of house music with dub and reggae. Leftfield’s distinctive style consists of an intricate system of call-and-response loops between multiple sounds interacting across the stereo and reverberant field. This sound system was already clear as day in their debut album, Leftism, whose vinyl is shown here.
