After a very busy Saturday, today felt much more relaxed in comparison! Martin and I had an easy start before arriving in Wythall for the Medi March Hare, a 60km sportive around the lanes of North Worcestershire. SPOTLIGHT ON: THE FOREST OF DEAN 🚴 🏞 The inaugural Mad Malvern Hare in 2021 featured a ‘second half’ 50 MILE route east of the river around Bredon Hill, up and around Pershore. This did, however, include a few too many main roads for our liking. So this year, as the 100 KM route heads back to Upton, the century riders are in for a real treat as the route heads south into the district of the Forest of Dean! As you’d expect the roads are undulating and tree-lined with picturesque villages dotted along the route. Surrounded by fields and forest the majority of the way until you reach May Hill - our Highlighted Climb - giving you the perfect panoramic of where you’ve just been (the Malvern Hills) and where you are now heading (Upton). Take a well-deserved break at a feed stop at May Hill Village Hall (just over the peak of the hill) before an easy route back to rejoin the 100 KM route at Chase End Street for our final highlighted climb.
