Is this you a 2 o’clock??? Here are my 3 tips to get over that afternoon slump. . 1️⃣ I know this is obvious but get a get a good nights sleep. Put your phone down an hour before to start winding down so you can fall asleep easier. . 2️⃣ Eat every 2-3 hours. This will keep your blood sugar from spiking and crashing. Make sure to have protein filled meals and veggies to keep you full. . 3️⃣ Drink lots of water. What finally happened when I stopped “dieting”! Do you feel like you are always “on a diet”? I was the yo-yo dieter. I go to the gym 🏋🏻‍♀️ and just eat salads 🥗 lose 20 pounds. Then I would go back to my old ways, gain 30. Then I find a new workout program and drink 2 shakes a day lose another 30. Then stop 🛑 the workout program and gain back 20. . Ok here it is. The secret to getting your kids to eat healthier food. 👀👇 . Get Them INVOLVED!!! . Tonight Samantha helped me with every part of dinner. She helped to measure the seasonings for the meat. Cut up some veggies 🍅. Help mix the salad. Hey plated the meals and set the table. . And guess what? She didn’t complain once about her meal. She ate she entire plate. . She was so proud that she was part of it she just wanted to eat it all. . So MOMS, get them involved. Let them help you pick out meals. Pick out food from the store. Let them help you prepare the meal. . Not only will they eat it but you get to spend that extra time with them too! . These stories are why I continue to share. Take a minute to read Angela’s story.⠀ .⠀ I started in March 2019 at the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I always put on a happy face, but deep down I was not happy. Not happy with how far I had let myself go, and definitely not happy with the energy I had been putting in to things.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ I made excuses for not going places. I was always the picture taker so I could hide from the camera. I made excuses for why we couldn't go on the water slides, or the rides when we would go places as a family. I didn't want to tell my children that mom was too heavy for the rides, or that I would not fit in safely.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Well in March something changed with my mindset, and I decided to stop making excuses. To stop breaking promises to myself, and realize it is not selfish to put yourself first. Yes, I am a mother and a wife, but if I want to keep being the best version for them, I need to be the best version of myself.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ In 11 months, I have officially lost 104 pounds. Sometimes I discount that and say, "Well I still have more to go", but in reality, THAT IS 104 FREAKING POUNDS!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ If you would have told the girl in January of 2019 that she would have lost over 100 pounds, worked out with a super trainer on stage at one of our company's quarterly events, or would meet some of the best people ever, she wouldn't have believed you. What is your why?? . This is my Ommie. My grandma is German and Oma is grandma in German but for some reason I was a kid I said Ommie so it’s stuck. . I loved spending time with my Ommie growing up as a kid. I remember playing with her and definitely lots of baking and cooking. I am still the only one that’s allowed to deep fry the Greble because she taught me how to do it. . I also remember, like it was yesterday, the day I learned that she had died. I am choking back tears even now as I write this. . It was The summer before I started high school. I was helping to work at a summer camp. I knew she’d gone into the hospital the evening before. That afternoon at camp my dad came up to tell me the horrible news. . She never saw me graduate from high school. She never saw me graduate from college. She never saw me walk down the aisle. She has never met my daughter. . My Ommie died at 61 of a heart attack. And my Papa, her husband, died 2 years earlier at 59 also of a sudden heart attack. . So at 37 my mother had lost both of her parents. I can’t imagine not having my parents around. . So why do I tell you this story? Because heart disease is completely preventable. February is heart awareness month. Heart disease is the number one killer of women. I know this runs in my family so I need to do everything I can to stay the healthiest I can be for my family. . So when that alarm goes off at 4:50 and I don’t wanna roll out of bed I remember my bigger why. And I get up and I move my body and I drink all the water and I eat all the good foods so I can be around for many many years. . This is also why I continue to share every day about these amazing programs that have helped me to get to the point that I’m at today. Have you ever said this... I’m never going to look like that. . I have been exactly where you are at. That woman on the left never ever thought the woman on the right would exist. I was always going to have the chubby cheeks. I was always going to be buying those extra large size shirts. . Trust me I was doing all the things to try to lose the weight, but nothing was sticking. I tried this diet or that exercise but nothing really worked. . So how did the girl on the right finally exist? I stopped dieting. I found a complete lifestyle change that help me to not only lose the weight but to keep it off. . Am I exactly where I want to be all the time? No, but now I realize that this is a lifelong journey not just a one month fix. . So I can live my life. Do some great workouts to help me feel stronger. Eat all of the great foods and not restrict myself from anything. And still keep looking like that woman on the right. . Need a quick, easy and healthy weeknight dinner??? 👀⬇️ . The sheet pan dinner is one of my favorites. Get in good protein and tons of veggies. . Tonight’s was chicken thighs. Start by preheating your oven to 425. The cover the chicken in EVOO, salt and pepper and garlic powder. . Then I cut up red and orange peppers, red onions, broccoli and carrots. I mixed them up with EVOO and seasonings. . Place the chicken and veggies on a sheet pan. Roast in the oven for about 30-35 minutes. Make sure your chicken cooks to 165. . Make sure to save and share this recipe. And tag me if you make it.

I’m too old for that! . No words have ever been so wrong! You are never too old! . I didn’t really truly start my health and fitness journey till I was about 37. As a kid and a teen I hated exercise, working out, running, sports anything like that. so sometimes I’m amazed at how much I enjoy my daily workouts. I’m even excited to start back up running again once the weather gets nicer. So don’t ever put an age limit on what you want to do! Go out there and be your best self at any age!

How do you know when something feels right?⠀ .⠀ This past week in my life has been crazy. My daughter had toe surgery. Helping her recover. Having to go to Jury Duty. Switching up my mornings to take my daughter to school. All a little extra draining.⠀ .⠀ On top of making sure my class has plans for each of the days I was out of my room.⠀ .⠀ Many times we may ask why. Why is this happening? Why am I going through this? Why am I even here?⠀ .⠀ Then yesterday I had the most amazing sense of peace. As I looked around my classroom and looked at my students working I knew this is where I was meant to be.⠀ .⠀ It was such a relief after such a crazy week to just get that sense of reassurance that this is where I should be.⠀ .⠀ So how do you get this peace? To be honest I do not have all the answers. All I can say is that if you have found that thing that brings you that peace and sense of joy keep at it. And if you’ve not found that thing yet guess what keep at it. Don’t give up till you found that “thing” that you need to do in your life to make yourself feel that sense of peace.

Sometimes it’s not always the big changes. . We don’t always see huge weight loss. While I have lost a lot of weight it is the keeping the weight off that I am more proud of. . I had lost it, gained it, lost it. I hated this cycle. Two years ago I broke the cycle and am still going strong. This pic is a #throwbackthursday to just a year ago. Don’t Believe this lie!! . Your journey, your life is about you. As moms, wives, women we feel we have to do everything for other people. . This is total BS!!!! You need to take care of you first and foremost. Once you have what you need then you’ll be all set to take care of everybody else. . So go out and do what you need to do for you. You do you!!!! . Want to take an art class? Go do it! Want to start that new business? Go do it! Want to get yourself back into better shape and healthier? Go do it! . I know there’s so many other people in our lives that we think about and we take their opinions into account. But in the long run you need to do what’s best for you. No one is going to truly understand what you need better than you.

Meal prep Monday tip!!! I love these @kodiakcakes pancakes but I can’t always make them in the morning. So I make extra on the weekends, freeze, then put them in the toaster in the morning. I love to top them with Greek yogurt and fresh berries. Try this next time you want fresh pancakes on a weekday.

For whoever needs to read this tonight: It’s ok if you don’t have a humongous flocked Christmas tree, it’s ok if you don’t have a ombré set of pink bottle brush trees & a gorgeous white brick mantle to put them on, it’s ok if your tree is covered in multicolored lights & ornaments that your kids made, it’s ok if you don’t buy new holiday decor every year to keep up with what’s in style, it’s ok if you don’t have all the pretty pom pom garland, it’s ok if you can’t afford to go to Disney World this year, its ok if you aren’t crafty or a good baker, it’s ok if you can’t fill the bottom of your tree with piles of presents. It’s ok if you didn’t get the collaboration that everyone else seems to be doing. Lastly, it’s ok if you really aren’t feeling Christmas quite yet or are feeling some extra anxiety about this holiday season. Comparison can be really tough this time of year, especially on here. You can still make the holidays magical & special for you & your family. Things are just things & will be out of style next year. Sometimes less is more. Now I’m going to reread this because even I need to be reminded sometimes. 💕
