It’s amazing how much more patience I have lately. I’ve noticed a big change in my mental health because of the career change I made back in January. I am not rushing around or feeling stressed out to get to the next thing; enjoying the small moments and saying “yes” when the kids ask to stay for a few more minutes. The Rochester Adams Highlanders defeat the Rochester Falcons, set to meet the Clarkston Wolves for the Regional Football Championship! And then there were eight! Yes, only eight Michigan High School Division 1 Teams left after this past weekends match-ups. Rochester Adams is among those eight! The #9 Rochester Adams Highlanders defeated the #30 Rochester Falcons 28-14 on Friday night (11/4) to advance to the Regional Championship against the #8 Clarkston Wolves. Adams took a 21-14 lead with 2:32 left in the 3rd quarter when Parker Picot connected with Damarcus Rouse for a 26 yard touchdown. The Higlanders increased their lead to what would become the final score, when Parker Picot rushed for a 4-yard touchdown with 11:02am left in the 4th quarter. Because Clarkston was ranked one slot higher than Adams in the playoff rankings, Clarkston will host the Regional Championship game on Friday, November 11, at Clarkston High School. 🥳 CONGRATS TO THE Rochester Adams Boys Soccer! 👏 🏆 MHSAA Division 1 Soccer Championship! Going into Saturday's Division 1 State Championship game, the Rochester Adams Higlanders had only lost only one game, however, their opponent, Rockford, was the only undefeated team in the state. It would prove to be an intensely fought game. The Highlanders Jason Craft scored in the first half on an assist from Colton James. It was Craft's 24th goal of the year and put Adams ahead 1-0 with 3:25 left in the half. The second half opened intense and scoreless. Rockford was doing all they could to prevent their first loss of the season. Then, Adam's Jason Craft was again involved in the next Highlander score, as Matt Vostriakov, took Craft's assist and scored. Now, with 4:12 left in the second half, Rockford found itself where they had not been all year, down 2-0. That would be the final score and Rochester Adams earned their first Division 1 State Soccer Championship since 1999. Rochester Adams Highlanders and the Rochester Falcons Meet for the Region 2 District 2 Football Championship! Oct 29, 2022, Rochester, MI - Rochester Adams and Rochester will meet for the MHSAA Region 2 District 2 Championship on Friday, November 4, at Rochester Adams High School. Adams advanced on Friday night with a win over the Lake Orion Dragons. Parker Picot contributed six touchdowns in the 49-35 victory. The Rochester Falcons advanced with a 21-20 come-from-behind victory over crosstown rival the Stoney Creek Cougars. The Falcons pulled out the victory when Alex Bueno completed a 5-yard pass to Alex Calcagno with 5 seconds on the clock. With the game tied at 20-20, it would be up to Senior Aidan Osentoski to deliver the extra point to win the game. Then, with no time remaining, Aidan executed a perfect extra point to give the Rochester Falcons their first playoff victory in the history of the Falcons football program. Reward Offered for Information Leading to Arrest of Driver Involved in Saturday Hit and Run Death of a Pedestrian in Rochester Hills Rochester Hills, MI – Oct 31, 2022 – A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the driver of an Audi Q7 vehicle that fatally injured a Davison woman and then fled the scene early Saturday in Rochester Hills. The Audi of unknown color is believed to be from the model years 2017-2019. It has front end damage, which likely includes damage to the lower portion of the front grille. The vehicle struck Sarah Ratliff, 30, as the vehicle was entering westbound M-59 from Adams Road approximately 2:21 a.m. Saturday. What you see: - me creating a small to do list of 3 things and crossing them off one at a time What you don’t see: - me drinking my first sip of water for the day at 12:57pm - my messy house - Me attempting to nurse the baby and brush my hair at the same time - My sick kids glued to the TV literally all day. - My kids fighting and me trying not to completely lose it - The fact that I haven’t brushed my teeth or taken my meds yet today (but I did shower! #winning) - The pile of laundry that hasn’t even made it to the laundry room ⬆️ among millions of other things. Am I proud of what I’ve accomplished today? No doubt. With 3 kids at home, I feel good when I cross pretty much anything off my list these days. But it’s important to recognize that whatever people are showing you, it’s never the whole picture. And that most importantly, as my friend Nicole says, no one is doing it all.
