So I always wanted an electric acoustic instrument and one where I didn’t need to use an amp because it’s hard carrying stuff with me and also making music with amp is often times not allowed so a month ago I discovered a wonderful electric acoustic ukulele which even has effects on them that I can use without extra equipment, but because it was out of my budget, my mom bought it for me, which I’m very happy about today it arrived and I’m really happy with this instrument. It was only available in Black so I will probably have to make it more colourful for me, but I am afraid to paint on it with acrylic markers because there’s electronic stuff in there and to dry, the paints I had to use a hairdryer, and I don’t know if that would work with the electronic stuff inside so I will probably get some stickers online instead, but I’m not absolutely sure if you have any suggestions I would be happy #electricacousticukulele #ukulele #enyanovau #decoratedukulele #newukulele #mynewukulele #newinstrument

So somehow I’ve recently ended up a member of the West Country Concertina Players club… I’ve been looking for a reed instrument I can use to create drones and chords that I can sing to and I came across the English concertina as an option. Small and light, pretty portable and even I can get my head round how the buttons are laid out even if I have almost no idea what notes they are… These instruments were first made by a chap called Wheatstone in 1829 and follow the same range of notes as can be played using a violin. After some research and bothering random people I found online via email; I was pointed towards the WCCP club who kindly loan out some of their instruments for a small fee. In this instance, quite extraordinarily, I had this one delivered right to my door in West Cornwall along with a basic introduction to how the instrument works! Now I have 3 months to get to know it and see if it’s the right fit for my accompanied singing idea! It’s also a good time for me to start more seriously attempting to understand what noises I am making on instruments at what time… Stay tuned. So I actually wasn’t planning on buying a ukulele, but it happens anyway, a couple of days ago a friend came by to make music and brought her ukulele and I found it sounded quite nice it was a standard size ukulele, of course I know these kinds of instruments, but as I tested them out a couple of years ago, I always found they sounded to mellow and plasticky as I also am unhappy with my baritone ukulele for quite awhie because it didn’t sound that good anymore so I searched online for concert ukuleles and found this one which is from carbon fibre and quite sturdy, which I like and it sounded almost like a steel string instrument, so I just had to buy it it’s a enya nova u concert and it arrived today.
