Sometimes simplicity is best. I’ve been asked over and over again this year how it feels to ‘not be able to travel’ or ‘not go anywhere’ and I have to say, honestly, it feels just fine. I think we beholden ourselves to such expectations that are not our own so often that we fail to remember why we do what we do to begin with. While its true that I’ve spent my last few birthdays in exotic places like #Singapore, #Bali, #Australia and more, I am just as excited to spend a wonderful day with these absolute loves of my life. I’m also incredibly blessed to have the most caring and thoughtful friends who have come from near & far delivering goodies left and right; and it was the most simple, but most perfect day I could have imagined. I guess when you get old, you appreciate the simplicity of life because so many things are so complicated. Today was a remarkably suboptimal time spent visiting #lakecomo and a reminder that not every day of an adventure works out like the last (or life even!). After an ultra stressful #Malta driving experience, we got stuck in #Como due to train schedules and ended up on a broken train which dumped us off in the middle of nowhere #Italy after massive delays.
