A jam-packed meeting with dozens of guests! Ashley introduced us to folks with the @honduras.cp and exchanged flags with the Rotary Club of LaPaz. Jeremy Scholtes honored four @hoodcollege_rotaract graduating seniors. Jasmine Sneed shared in our preprogram about the kid zone at the @frederickrescuemission, which our Rotary helped create with a recent grant. The Food Distribution Center provides free groceries in a grocery store-like environment. Volunteers help guests shop for their food items. While parents shop, the children can enjoy a safe and fun play area where volunteers love on them. The grant funded the flooring, tables and chairs, toys and books. We also welcomed Lori Sprecher and Pilar Olivo from Family Connects Frederick County to share @frederickhealth’s newest program to help serve families after the birth of a baby. The “4th trimester” is a critical time for all members of a growing family and this model improves infant health, supports maternal health before the six-week visit when pregnancy related complications occur and reduced health disparities. Raúl Font-Quer ha realizado su visita a nuestro Club, en nuestra sede de Casa Orlandai, en la cual hemos podido explicarle nuestra metodología de trabajo, basada en Convenios de Colaboración con entidades beneficiarias con las que compartimos proyectos, nuestro sistema de planificación de los nuevos proyectos y de evaluación de los resultados de los mismos; pudimos presentarle los proyectos realizados durante este año, tanto en nuestra comunidad como internacionales, nuestra participación en los programas de Juventud y nuestras aportaciones a LFR, tanto al Fondo de Dotación, al Fondo Anual y, como no, al Fondo Polio Plus. Tras felicitarnos por nuestra actividad y animarnos a seguir trabajando como de costumbre, en todos los ámbitos y áreas de interés, tuvo lugar el tradicional intercambio de banderines y nos hizo entrega de los reconocimientos como Club 100% Sustentador de LFR y 100% EREY correspondientes al Año Rotario 2022-2023. Hans Brandstrup har mange års erfaring som brandmand og frivillig i det civile beredskab og han gjorde Horsens Vitus Bering Rotary Klub klogere på nogle af de emner, man bør have forberedt sig på, før der indtræffer en krise. Beredskabsforbundet organiserer de frivillige i redningsberedskaberne, (Beredskabsstyrelsen, de kommunale beredskaber eller direkte i kommunerne). Beredskabsforbundet har til formål at samle de frivillige og højne befolkningens forståelse for beredskabstanken. Beredskabsforbundet skaffer frivillige til de forskellige beredskaber og yder støttefunktioner, som f.eks. forplejning ved indsatser. Derudover afholdes gratis kurser i håndtering af forskellige typer kriser i regi af Borgerberedskabet. Hvis man kan stille med 12 deltagere, kommer Borgerberedskabet ud og afholder kursus og Hans Brandstrup fortalte levende om indholdet i disse kurser. Borgerberedskabet tager f.eks. ud på skoler og afholder kurser om, hvordan man holder en god fest, holder ubudne gæster væk fra fester, og forholdsregler med hensyn til sikkerhed ved kortbetaling. Kurset ”Kriseparat i 3 døgn”, lægger vægt på ting, som hvor meget vand og mad, der skal bruges, og hvad man gør, hvis strømmen går. Et andet eksempel er kurset ”Kriseparat ved brand”, hvor der f.eks. undervises i forholdsregler ved ild i olie, hvordan man køber en brandslukker, der ikke ødelægger elektronik, som pulverslukkere gør, samt det hensigtsmæssige i at have brandtæpper, og vide hvor de er.
