Pronti per la Race for the Cure 💎 Oggi abbiamo lavorato sulla lezione che terremo venerdì alle scuole. L'Aikido non ha gare, non ci sono occasioni per verificare a che punto siamo arrivati, la pratica ha davvero un gusto molto personale ed è proprio qui la magia di questa arte marziale🥋 Ma questa occasione ha permesso a ognuno dei ragazzi di capire su cosa lavorare, cosa migliorare. Se sono in grado di mostrarlo e spiegarlo ad altri, allora lo sanno🔥 È stato incredibile vedere l'impegno con cui si sono preparati, la serietà con cui hanno provato ogni tecnica, il desiderio di condividere il loro percorso con altri ragazzi della loro età. Rifletto spesso su quanto, in fondo, siano loro a dare a me, piuttosto che il contrario. Beauty lies in little, apparently meaningless things. Lies in details🔥 If the slippers are in order, it means the students care, the Sensei cares, it's a place of care, of attention, of details. This is so frustrating!😑 At least this is what I see in Italy. While Aikido is probably the most necessary art to study nowadays for it's capacity of connecting human beings (we are so disconnected to eachother in this overconnected world)🤦, it's promoted in the worst way possible. 📌Not relatable: there is not one clear reference. 📌Not martial: we basically dance around claiming some universe connection...connection comes after years of very practical and specific training. And we don't focus on the martial technical points which are core, especially regarding weapons. 📌No appropriate warm up: we lack flexibility, strenght and therefore technical abilities. I saw black belts barely able to do ukemi and this is simply dangerous! Of course that depends also on age but if phisical prep and technical prep are not strong everybody does whatever on the mat. 📌Not appropriate teachers prep: opening a dojo is a matter of grade and not effective ability either to perform and to teach. For kids even worse. I love Aikido but I have been adding personal skills for years to be a good teacher and to complete my prep. 💪I am a professional coach as I wanted to be able to address my students properly. 💪I add to the warm up dancing and pilates stretching and boxing and parkour phisical prep to be sure bodies are sufficiently trained. 💪I have been studying for years Iaido, Kendo, Shodo and Nohgaku to address the Aikido movement in the best way possible and to understand what koryu brought to it. I really wish more clarity and more severe steps to become an Aikido pro. It would help also its understanding💎 What do you think?
