Where accounts are reviewing films that are set in or involve an aircraft. 𝙿𝙶𝚃𝙼 𝙲𝙰𝚃𝙴𝙶𝙾𝚁𝙸𝙴𝚂: #MovieEvent / #Top101FilmsOfAllTime / #FunkoSodaSaturday (on a Monday!) I remember the first time I saw #ExecutiveDecision. My husband and I took my Aunt to see it in the theater when it first came out, because she loved #StevenSeagal. And 30 minutes into the film something shocking happened and my aunt was not happy. I won’t spoil it, even if the film is almost 30 years old, but that shocking moment was so unexpected, it was awesome! 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 is one of my favorite #GuiltyPleasures and I’ve seen it countless times. It’s such a great #ActionFilm, but I don’t know why it isn’t as popular as 𝘋𝘪𝘦 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘥 or 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘥, as it’s easily equal to top tier 90’s action gems. And this film not only has a storyline that had me hooked from the start, it also has a fantastic ensemble cast: including Seagal, #KurtRussell, #HalleBerry, #JohnLeguizamo, #OliverPlatt, #JoeMorton, #BDWong, and the late #JTWalsh. There were even small parts from 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘜𝘴 #JonHuertas, and #MarlaMaples (Trump at the time)… who wasn’t very good, but still fun to see. This film is an example of what happens when you get a good crew and cast and let them do what they do best. It’s filled with lots of action sequences and suspense, and it even has a great villain! It’s definitely one of the best 90’s action film with a perfect blend of late 80’s cheesy camp and early 2000’s seriousness. It’s unfortunate that this film often gets overlooked. But seriously, it should be on everyone’s radar, because it’s definitely worth the watch! On Deadly Ground So I was surprised to find I haven’t reviewed a Steven Seagal movie yet mainly because there’s just too many to chose from as he’s one of the most infamous bad action stars was even rejected from Expendables and being the worst host on SNL. I know the guy has his fans but I never found the appeal of him. So I just checked one of most famous bad films which he himself directed. Released in 1994 it was ripped apart by critics and only made a little it’s budget back so let’s take a look. Pros - Alaska environment looks nice - one or two cool moments Cons - Steven Seagal’s acting as despite directing he just doesn’t seem to care and is barley half awake and can’t even speak properly. - hilariously bad fighting and often he looks he’s tossing around - Seagal’s ego moments like him being the chosen of a spirit journey and someone telling his backstory - Michael Caine as a the villain first off I think Doug Dimmadome had more dignity, second what’s with the make up as looks a plastic version of him, and third that accent (looks up suppose to be a Texan accent) (laughing uncontrollably) I need a minute….ok Michael Caine trying a Texan accen…(laughing) I can’t even finish it’s so funny - this whole bar scene is hilarious when the bully from Dumb and Dumber picks on this drunk Native American so him and Seagal play deadly paddy cake and suddenly the bully wants to change by Seagal’s wisdom. Even more hilarious the drunk guy goes “thank you my you’re about to go on sacred journey” I’m in love with this movie

Mi padre era team Seagal pero yo, yo siempre seré team Chan, según he ido creciendo que no es lo mismo que madurando, e ido amando más y más a ese chino de 1'74, que pese a reparte ostias como panes contra todo y todos, te hacía reír. Los años le han puesto en el lugar donde le corresponde dándole ese merecidísimo Óscar a toda una trayectoria siendo de los pocos artistas marciales de disfrutar de este premio. Los que vamos a ver una película de Jackie Chan sabemos lo que vamos a ver, no vengamos en plan "Carlos Boyero" que si esto y que si lo otro, osea la calidad de esta película no reside en ella si no en él y punto. Dicho ésto el director y actor marcial #sammohung se pone a las riendas de esta película. Que tiene de diferente esta película a las que hace Chan?, nada, absolutamente nada es más de lo mismo. Pero en esta ocasión Hung planea sobre nuestras bajas expectativas un humor tan raro y ridículo que llama la atención, ese personaje que él mismo interpreta no hay por donde cogerlo pero me encanta. Además de lo que considero es el mayor logro, dirigir con mano firme todas las secuencias de un Jackie Chan siempre veloz e increíble acrobático. La historia es siempre o casi siempre lo mismo, en este caso un chef televisivo llamado Jackie, poco más de lo mismo, sin sorpresas, sin deleites al espectador mas que entretener. El malo es muy malo, el bueno es humilde y muy bueno, donde el humor es el plato fuerte. Es Jackie Chan lo mejor de esta película, supongo que era algo lógico ya que es la principal razón por la que me he puesto a verla. Todo lo que rodea Chan merece la pena, sus impresionantes secuencias de acrobacias, sus peleas y sus momentos de humor ridículo. 🏅Nota: 5/10.

Andrew Davis began Steven Seagal's career, so it's actually ironic that Davis would end up helming what is not only Seagal's most successful film, but is also the last profitable movie #stevenseagal would ever mainline. Not only is the script complex without being confusing, but the pacing is perfection, the action is brutal without being gratuitous, and both Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey project the right amount of menace and psychopathy required for their villainous roles. Oh, and Seagal is Seagal.

Everything that was great about Seagal's early output is neatly wrapped up in Rolling Thunder director John Flynn's 91-minute package: A softspoken man-of-the-streets protagonist, bone-crunching displays of aikido disguised as fight scenes, and a gritty urban crime narrative that anybody can get behind.
