Meet Youth Concert Orchestra! YCO is a full-orchestra experience (the first of its kind for many students in the group). Players generally move into YCO with experience playing in other string orchestras or wind ensembles. Listening, blending, and making music within the full orchestra setting is a challenge met by all students in YCO. In this ensemble, principal players learn what it means to effectively lead a section and all players learn to play together with unity, passion, precision and musical excellence. Conducted by Dr. Sandy Goldie, Director of Music Education at @vcuartsmusic, students refine musical skills by performing original masterworks, arrangements, and pops favorites. Rating: 10/10 Even though this isnโt my favorite episode of SpongeBob, this was still an excellent episode from start to finish. Pros: - The plot and concept of this episode was really fun. - Squidward was amazing here. His reactions to all of his failed attempts to train the townfish made for plenty of funny moments. - Everyone else featured in this episode were really enjoyable here as well. - The different ways the townfish screw up during the band practice was really hilarious. The march practice scene in particular was really dark, yet absolutely f*cking hilarious because of Squidwardโs reaction. - The townfish fight scene was really entertaining to watch. - The scene where SpongeBob encourages everyone to practice one more time for Squidward was so well done. - There were plenty of other hilarious moments in this episode. The Mayonnaise line was an obvious highlight, but the โBIG MEATY CLAWSโ line and the part where Sandy beats the hell out of Patrick for kicking her were also really funny as well. - The entire ending segment was f*cking phenomenal, holy f*cking shit. The actual band performance was animated insanely well, the song itself was absolutely fantastic, and seeing Squidward actually succeed in the end was really cathartic to watch. This is easily in my top 3 favorite segments in all of SpongeBob. Overall, even though I do think Christmas Who is my favorite Season 2 episode, this was still a masterpiece of an episode and itโs perfectly understandable why this episode is so beloved. The humor was amazing, the characters were great, the plot was really fun, there were tons of iconic lines and moments, and god DAMN that band performance at the end was an absolute treat to watch. This might not be my favorite episode of the whole show, but itโs definitely gonna be in my top 5 once Iโm done binge-watching the series. #spongebobsquarepants #bandgeeks @spongebob

Band festival at Western Washington University was a lot of fun yesterday. We watched our kid's band plus 6 other schools and finished with Western's performance. It is such a beautiful campus in Bellingham. Did not enjoy the drive home though.
