MARKET TOMORROW! A few reminders... 🎯 CAFE HOURS: On market day the Bruern Farms cafe will be open during the same period as the market itself, so from 11-4. WE WONT BE OPEN FROM 9:30 as we normally would on a Sunday. 🚗 PARKING: due to the ongoing wet conditions, we're offering several alternate car parking areas including one down the road at Home Farm Yard, as well as some on the verge of the Milton Road, and other nearby areas. Follow signs/people directing you. If you live locally, please consider WALKING TO THE MARKET. Our usual overflow field for parking will be open to those with 4 x 4 vehicles who wish to use it. Pain Au Chocolat #crumbshot of my 3rd attempt at laminated dough and hand laminating using stoneground flours 🌾. Laminated dough, and hand laminating at that, is tricky 😆 but it’s been on my list of things to try for over 2 years, I’m so pleased I’ve finally started and absolutely love the process 🫶🏼. This batch was made over a week ago and shaped into PACs and put in the freezer. Then, defrosted, ambient proofed and baked off yesterday. Didn’t rush the proofing this time and turned out better. It’s not perfect and definitely room for improvement but just wanted to share my li’l journey. Hello there, friends. I'm back at it (ish) in the soap studio after a bit of a break and a big pivot, too. We've got a lot of projects underway here @bruern_farms including, most recently, opening up our cafe @bruernfarmshopandcafe which has kept our entire (small) team very busy. (To wit: I'm in the cafe kitchen cooking your eggs and bacon and warm lentil salad with goat's cheese on Mondays and Tuesdays for the foreseeable 👩🍳) We've also got plans to rejig the farm shop and open up a space for workshops, among other offerings coming down the pike. This means I'll be scaling back the soap business a bit for the foreseeable, though I'll keep the website open and continue to sell stock through the farmshop. . Looking ahead, I'll definitely be running botanical soapmaking workshops and will start up with foraging walks again in the spring, adding a bit of wild crafting and/or cooking to those. We're revamping the Bruern Farms website so you can find everything we're doing in one place, so stay tuned for news of that relaunch, as it'll be a good, central source of what's happening and when. .
