[AD] Did you know @campsitesuk not only host great campsites but great glamping sites too? From pods, to treehouses, lodges and beautiful Shepherds Huts like the one I stayed in this past weekend @morndyke.co.uk just outside of Thirsk near the North York Moors National Park. The Shepherds hut was beautiful inside and out and had everything we needed for a cosy girls weekend getaway. And unlike some shepherds huts the bathroom was inside the hut, which makes a massive difference especially during unpredictable English weather (it chucked it down on Sunday so I was very glad I didn't have to go outside to the bathroom) There are a few huts on the site, but spaced well enough apart to not hear anyone else and I only saw other guests on check in. You have your own outside seating area and BBQ with lovely views across the fields, especially at sunset (see the last image) and a wash house, with washing machines and an honesty box system to buy things like locally made cakes and extra wood for the fire and BBQ. Each hut sleeps up to 3 people. You are a 9 minute drive away from the centre or Thirsk and a 20 minute drive away from the edge of the North York Moors National park. 30 minutes from Knaresborough and about 40 minutes from Harrogate, so it's a great base to explore. Oh and if you love fishing 🎣 they have their very own private fishing lake on site. Overall we had a lovely weekend and even though this is an Ad, I highly recommend this place to stay ☺️ #itsgreatoutdoors
Restoring an historic piece of Dorset’s history It’s been a long time coming but we’ve finally, with the help of Dorchester Men’s Shed, finished the finger post sign. In the early days of the AONB fingerpost project we volunteered to restore the post on the junction between the B3142 and the B3143, between Puddletown and Piddlehinton. The trouble with volunteering to restore this particular sign is that the names are particularly long, including Sturminster Newton, so the requisite letters were expensive and a little onerous. So the project got parked, until now and very soon the project volunteers and representatives of the council will be returning the sign, with its oak fingers and cast iron letters, back to its rightful place. Our Hideout Hut - beautifully brought to life in ink and watercolour by artist Laura Diggens. Commissioned by our charity partner @bridewellgardens, Laura has illustrated some of the charity’s favourite views within the walled gardens and vineyard. Bridewell Gardens provides a safe space for adults in mental health recovery through social and therapeutic horticulture. Named 'The Storytelling Hut', we donated this hut on long-term loan to the charity, providing a place for gardeners to reflect on the story of their recovery. Just a few snaps from our little trip away to the Cornish sea🌊⚓️ It’s so rare I get to spend quality time with mum and it was so needed, lots of belly laughs, too many toffee vodkas and plenty of that sea air🐟 We stayed in a gorgeous shepherds hut which I found on airbnb (linked in my highlights) with @tregawne_farm_cottages and it was perfection. Everything you could possibly need for your stay, including your very own hot tub and sauna on site.
