Well, isn’t just my luck that there’s a thunder storm happening as I’m alone in a hotel room! #coolcoolcool I was managing my fear okay until the lightning and thunder were legit happening simultaneously! ⛈💨⚡️🌩 I froze. My hands clenched. My feet curled. My body was full of tension. But then! My brain caught up and I remembered that if I move towards what was scaring me that I might be able to handle it better. TURNS OUT IT WORKED! Now, as you also know… I’ve been on my healing journey for a long time now so my awareness, thoughts, and behaviours were something I felt in control of because I’ve been working so hard! :) I just wanted to share because it’s SO AMAZING when the strategies and things you learn along the way ACTUALLY WORK! I don't know if I could ever properly convey how much it scared me unless you know me well enough to know how often I have fallen down stairs just in the last few years.
