⛷ Yesterday pupils competed in the English Schools Indoor Ski and Board Championships 2024 in Hemel Hempstead, and they did an amazing job! Samuel in Year 7 secured 2nd position in U14, Cameron in Year 3 won 3rd position in under 10, and we achieved 2nd and 3rd positions in the Team Ski events. 🎿 🥈 🥉 It truly was an awesome effort by all and 80% skied quicker on their second run, and those that had previously competed at the event all skied quicker this time. ⭐️BRC Intermediate Dressage Championships 2024⭐️ The adoration and respect I have for this mare is unparalleled after an incredible weekend spent competing at our biggest event yet. At our first stay-away event, 4hrs from home, she warmed up beautifully in the busiest warm up arenas I've ever seen. The test, although not foot perfect, showed the results of all the hard work we've been putting into key areas in our lessons with @helen.dawson.1865 Sinai Dressage which was all I could have asked for and more. This gave us a solid score of 66.54% and put us mid-table in the results, which was impressive given the quality of our fellow competitors. Thank you to Y Fenni & District Riding Club for giving us the opportunity to represent the club and gain this unforgettable experience. Eternal gratitude goes to our hosts for the weekend, @ruthiemotters and family, without whom the weekend would have been 10x more stressful, 10x less comfortable and 100x less fun. Both girls had a great time @onleygroundsequestriancomplex competing @british_dressage CT. I really hope this discipline will develop further in future and different heights and challenging dressage tests will be added 🤞 Poynstown Air Lady did a good test, short of 67% and jumped a fantastic clear round. It was her first big outing and she mastered some exciting moments very well to finish in the middle of a large class. Kilimanjaro gained over 70% in her test. I was pleased.. but more so ,when the judge opened the door and commented on what a lovely partnership we present.❤️ Having this recognised in a dressage test was probably the biggest boost and I felt extremely proud ❤️ To jump clear and finish with a top placing was the icing on the cake. RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS: The 18th African Championships saw the Namibian rhythmic gymnastics junior team clinching the fourth overall spot, with the senior team right on their heels having secured fifth place. The seven Namibian gymnasts arrived yesterday from representing the country in the championships last week in Kigali, Rwanda. The championships saw Kyla Duchaine dominate the bunch. She participated in the junior category and secured the fifth spot in hoops, ball, and clubs and seventh in ribbon. She described it as an incredibly humbling experience – qualifying for the finals and holding on to fifth place in three out of four routines, with a respectable seventh place in one routine. Her companion in the junior category, Peya Kashaka was right on her heels at sixth place in hoops, eighth in ball and ribbon, and seventh in clubs. Kashaka dominated the bunch in the individual category, securing ninth place, whereas Duchaine clinched on to 11th place. Faiza Hamutenya (junior) secured 11th place in the individual category. In the senior category, Emilia Ekandjo was placed 17th, Joy-Lana Kaboy 18th, Kenandjo Mupia 24th and Ngatangue Hambeka in the 26th position. #myzone #rhythmic #gymnastics #african #championships
