☀️💚⛰️🥾 If I said I was never leaving the Snowy Mountains, would that be an April Fool’s joke or my actual feelings…? What an absolutely epic adventure this has been yet again (scoring with the great holidays these last few years). Always thought I’d be doing these types of trips with a romantic partner of some sort or atleast a crush- but as it turns out- having neither suits me just fine too. My toes are a little sore but my heart is happy and my cup is most definitely full. Still in somewhat denial that I’m getting pushed out of Sydney’s obscenely rising rental market, but maybe life outside the city isn’t such a bad thing for me after all. The Alpine Thermocolour Grasshopper from the Australian Alpine area, is confusing as it changes colour according to how warm it is, in a mere 2-3 hours. So a brilliant blue, torqoise, brown-green or green grasshopper may be exactly the same species! Below 15° it's a deep blue-black colour, and above 25° becomes blue-green. Canberra Long weekend pilgrimage to #kosciuszkonationalpark ❤️ had THE most amazing weather what a gorgeous weekend to be in the Mountains 🥾⛰️. Hiked Charlotte Pass to Guthega Loop via Illawong bridge, around past Mt Tate (2068m), Mt Anton (2010m) and Mt Tynam (2196m), past Blue Lake and back to Charlotte Pass. I clocked 34km ( we lost the track a couple of times 😬). Then yesterday did Perisher to Charlottes Pass via Porcupine Rocks about 13km (new track, super pretty and amazing!). Had a baby brown 🐍 sliver in front of my foot (very proud - didn’t freak out too much), and then did Mt Stilwell (2054m) at the top of Charlotte Pass in the afternoon to catch the sun setting over Kosi Main Range - just magic! Cannot wait for the full 55km Snowy Alpine walk (Perisher- Bullocks Flat-Thredbo-Main Range incl Mt Kosi- Charlotte Pass - Perisher) to be finished next year!! #lifeisbetterinhikingboots #kosciuszko #charlottepass #guthega #mainrangetrack #hiking #hikingadventures #hikingtrails
