Winter garden is done ✔️ 🙌 👌 now we wait for the sprouts to rear their cute lil heads 🌱🌱🌱 Garlic and spring onion i started inside in water last wk went in yesterday when I prepped the bed and today red onion, carrots, beetroot, cauliflower, broccoli, leek and spinach went in! Still a little patch for the beans but they'll have to wait until my candycane capsicum plant has finished ripening the mass amounts of fruits hanging off it (ive had to put a 3rd stake in it as it keeps toppling over with the weight) a good problem to have tho 🫑 and I find something suitable for them to climb and grow on. So the results r in on the little avo experiment I did back in Feb 2 avos 1 put in water and 1 put straight into dirt 🥑🥑🥑 The one in water started doing its thing in only 14days and this one in soil has taken 2months and 8 days! These are absolutely beautiful looking pods the camera just doesn't do them justice! Pretty stoked to see them today as the plant is from the dudd seeds I got and it's been throwing red pods until now that is these are the first deep orange ones off it 🌶🍊 yet to try em but ill let you all know when I do. Winter stocks are slowly growing! Having abit of a dudd season this yr after not growing from quality seed stockists but ive definitely learnt my lesson on that! Will still be able to pump out afew batches of my best sellers for my local crew but that won't be happening until winter this time rnd! So obsessed with these baby mango's 🥭 I've grown from seed from store bought fruit!!! Decided to take a risk yesterday in the 39°c heat and put them outside to see how they went (theyve germinated and transitioned to dirt on the kitchen bench in a south facing window that gets pretty good afternoon sun) Well they've both doubled in size and are absolutely loving the heat! #norisknoreward I think the first challenge ill have with these will be the cold winter as I live in the #southwest of #westernaustralia which isn't ideal weather for mango's but hey I like doing things people tell me you can't! Purple UFOs are defo a chilli variety that'll test your patience 😂 they grow alot like the superhot varieties #extremely #slow and take even longer to actually ripen! So the verdict is in these are indeed Brazilian starfish just a little deformed abit like my spine 🤣 they're fairly mild at first there's zero heat then it kicks in after afew minutes and doesn't last long at all they've got a super sweet capsicum type flavour I actually like them! Chilli genetics really are amazing! Here you see 2 black Hungarian chilli plants (yes I know 1 is black and 1 is green) the seeds sown were taken from the same plant and planted at exactly the same time and look at the difference! When I decide to tske seeds from this variety at the end of the season of course ill be taking them from pods off the black plant and only the very best looking pod at that! Swipe left to see the video in the last slide they are very different from the leaves to the stems to the flowers and even the calyx (for those of you who don't know the calyx is the top of the pod which is the structural base of the flower) on the black plant they're green and the green plant they're black!!! So yeah im like a fully fledged farmer now as you can see with my x3 strawberries 🍓🙃🍓🙃🍓 1st of the seeds sown last week to sprout are the beetroot and a couple basil rearing their heads too, lost all but 3 of the honey snap peas due to our really cold nights we've had this last week 🤦♀️ will try again with those next week once it warms up again. Yellow button squash went in today looking healthy as and ready to flower!
