She made me feel very welcomed in Auckland, NZ, providing me with detailed info on how to get to her place, and fresh bedding. I had a short, but memorable stay at her place. Innsbruck was the first city I visited there. Ahmad, an Iranian who has lived in Afghanistan, is the first non-native couch host I met in my experience. He has been living in Austria for a long time and has residency. Ahmad really saved me by accepting my stay😭. Innsbruck isn’t a big tourist city, especially during the off-season after the pandemic. Therefore, there aren’t many active hosts on the platform. Ahmad was the first host to reply to me, but initially, he politely declined because he wanted to preserve his rest time. 🤩Surprisingly, just as my train 🚂 was about to arrive, he messaged again, offering help if I still needed a place, at the moment when I was already searching for backpackers. His warm gesture was like a lifeline. My host loved outdoor activities and knew many good skiing spots near Innsbruck⛷️🎿🚡. Even during the weekend I left, he planned a trip to Croatia with friends. Seeing his active lifestyle was inspiring, showing me that living life according to one’s own preferences is a goal worth pursuing, even though it’s not easy. 🏔️ Honestly, I chose Austria 🇦🇹 because I wanted to visit Liechtenstein, but I hadn’t done much research. I showed Ahmad my travel book and discussed my plans, and he gave me valuable advice on what to see and what to skip, even suggesting a charming town, Bregenz, on my way back from Liechtenstein💖. Bregenz gave me the opportunity to relax and sunbathe alone for the first time in Europe. ☀️ 💕 The mountain views from Ahmad’s balcony in Innsbruck were stunning, especially with the sunset on the day I arrived. Maybe it was his warmth combined with the beauty of the mountains, but even though Austria wasn’t initially on my list, Innsbruck left a beautiful impression on me. He also told me that “Taiwan” was the 50th country he hosted in.😃 We both enjoy chatting, but talking with Ilja easily delved into topics not usually discussed. He felt like a wise big brother, and every story taught me something about life.🌟 At one point, I was feeling a bit down, and Ilja noticed it easily. Even after I left his place to continue traveling in Tuscany, he kept checking in on me and encouraging me, giving me confidence. Sometimes, conversations without knowing about each other’s past, personalities, or connections with others are more relaxing and straightforward😌. This was evident when discussing the factors contributing to my low mood, which I received the reminder mentioned at the beginning. He told me, “You already have ideas in your heart; you’re just afraid of change. Nothing is absolute. Face it, and everything will change. Chimborazo 6263m.n.p.m Nie chcę mówić że to moja ostatnia taka wysoka wspinaczka - choć pewnie nie jeden ekwadorczyk stwierdziłby, że wyżej i tak już się nie da, to muszę szczerzę przyznać, że zdobycie tego szczytu poparte było tylko chęcią odhaczenia jako tego, który jest najbliżej słońca. Całość bym podsumował jako bardzo drogie doświadczenie, za które świadomie płacisz żeby tylko przez krótką chwilę poczuć coś niezwykłego, mimo że w cale nie masz gwarancji, że uda Ci się to osiągnąć. Dużo prościej jest powiedzieć że będzie bolało, będziesz chciał to przerwać i nawet jeśli wyjdziesz na szczyt to trzeba jeszcze wrócić. Nie będzie kłamstwem jak powiem, że największą motywacją do wspinaczki było to, że zapłaciłem za przewodnika, który okazał się być dość ważnym punktem wyprawy bo pewnie każda osoba znająca drogę mogłaby go zastąpić, to zdecydowanie mój stan nie brał pod uwagę żeby jak kolwiek skupiać się na szukaniu szlaku o czym dowiedziałem się już w trakcie. Wyruszyliśmy o 23 i niestety zamiast się wcześniej przespać, to borykałem się z bardzo nieprzyjemnym bólem głowy i mdłościami, które w przypadku solowego wypadu na pewno zmieniłyby moje plany. Po kilku godzinach marszu niewyspanie świetnie współpracowało z ogólnym zmęczeniem organizmu doprowadzając do sytuacji gdy dosłownie co 10-20 metrów siadałem i następne co pamiętam to jak budził mnie Fabiano. Internet nie kłamał bo 45° nachylenia towarzyszy Ci przez większość czasu i o ile idąc pod górę jest to wykańczające to w drodze powrotnej bardzo utrudnia schodzenie i mimo że jestem fanem zbiegania z gór to miękki śnieg, raki i zmęczenie średnio się łączą.
