I've been slacking on social media again but I have oh so much to share. This weekend was an absolute blast watching @ourlonggoodbye screen among 5 other phenomenal films at the 2024 Crazy8s Gala! It was an incredibly strong selection of stories this year and I found myself holding back tears, or howling along with the rest of the audience as we watched 6 incredible films explore both the beautiful and ugly parts of the human condition. Turning 8 today, and she’s going ‘crazy’ for barn hunt 🐭 #crazy8s Swipe through to see her cake 🎂 But seriously if you asked Auggy, she’d probably say this was her best Birthday ever! She had SO much fun 😭 Seeing her so happy makes me feel happy… my heart melts. Also… 8?! No way. Time is flying. I swear I just got her 2 years ago. Still feels surreal but this HAPPENED 😱🤯 6 weeks of prep. 3.5 wild days of shoot. 5 days of post. 100+ amazing/talented/generous human beings. And 1 humble film that could. @ourlonggoodbye came from the heart & was shot with endless amounts of 💓 donated from all directions. It means the world to me as a writer/director that my Canadian film debut came from such a personal place in my own private life. I don't post much these days but I CAN'T NOT put up what's to come: gratitude posts for our resilient & magnificent crew, our fantastically skillful cast, our unbelievable producers, our insanely kind sponsors, and all those special people associated with our film.
