To assure #goodwaterflow to the #crops, all the dead material gets burned out. Weeds in the ditches act like friction slowing the #flowofwater, also the weeds occupy space in the ditch reducing the volume of water delivered. Burning the ditches solves these problems, puts #nutrients back into the #soil, & #revitalizestheland. The purpose of #tilling is to mix #organic matter into your soil, help #controlweeds, break up crusted soil, and help #preventpests from intruding into your #garden. #Gettingthesoil ready for #planting is an important first step and should begin 2-4 months before planting.
