I have been seeing a lot of posts on social media that Guest Services have been going around the resorts in the middle of the day to inspect rooms. That practice has been in effect since the tragedy in Vegas. Even if your room has a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, it will still be inspected. What is the Disney Memory Maker and why use it? With the MM, as it's abbreviated, you get to keep all your photos that are taken by the Photo Pass photographers and also the ride photos that are snapped on certain rides. Sometimes the photographer will add some special pixie dust to make your photos even more special. The photographers are located strategically throughout all the parks, and in front of special building, like the castle. You just walk up and scan someone's magic band, they will snap the pictures. You can view them in your My Disney Experience app. You are also able to purchase any photos you may want to keep. The next form of transportation is the Disney Skyliner. I love the Skyliner so much! The Skyliner goes from the area between the Art of Animation and Pop Century resorts to the Caribbean Beach resort area. There you will decide if you are going to go to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. It does make a quick "stop" at the Riviera resort on your way to Epcot. The "stop" isn't really a stop, unless a wheelchair or electronic vehicle needs to board or unload. I find that usually, it is only your party who is on board the Skyliner. Occasionally, they will have another small party board if they are busy, like at the end of the night, but even then, I think that has only happened 1 time. I also find the Skyliner is so much faster than the bus. Even if the line is long, it goes by very quickly. For this reason alone, I try my best to stay in a resort that goes to the Skyliner. Every Wednesday, I am going to post on different ways to get around the Disney World properties. I want to know your thoughts on the different modes and which one is your favorite. So, the first and most common is using the Disney busses. They are everywhere! They are all decked out with Disney characters on the outside and they go to all 4 parks and Disney Springs. You can catch the bus by standing outside of your resort or outside of the parks. Each bus to resort usually runs every 15-20 minutes so you aren't waiting long. The buses also are able to handle strollers and Electric Vehicles. The only downfall to the buses that I have come across is how packed they get. Sometimes there is standing room only! On the 1st day of Disney is Test Track. Test Track is in EPCOT and is awesome. First, you get to "build" a virtual car, then you go to the next step, which is testing your car. The attraction takes you thru different environments a vehicle may encounter and as you go, you can see how your car is performing throughout the challanges. It also goes from 0-65 mph and you go outside. Adults only at Disney? Is that really a thing? Why would adults want to go to Disney without kids? Seriously? Yes, adults only is a thing at Disney. As fun as it is to take your kids, it's just as much fun to go without them. Why and how? Well, first, it is cheaper for just adults because there are less people going. So if your dream is to stay in a moderate or deluxe resort, this would be the time to splurge. Also, there is only your and whomever you are traveling with to stand in lines and ride the rides. I find it a lot less stressful and arguing over who is sitting with who when it is just us adults. Lastly, you can splurge on the sit down restaurants and not have to worry about the kids not eating the expensive food and you still have to pay for them. So, as much as I love going to Disney with my entire family, an adult trip is a must every once in a while. We had heard a lot of stuff about Disney World, and not all of it was good. So my expectations weren’t that high. Which is a great place to start. Low expectations, AMAZING time!!! We LOVED every minute, including the many minutes we had to wait in line. But hey, it was sunny and warm, not something we’ve had here in Seattle for quite some time 🙂. Our favorite rides: Soarin’ at Epcot, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, The Millenium Falcon. Actually, all rides were amazing. It’s ridiculously expensive (Disney really knows how to make money …) but so worth it.
