Happy first birthday to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios! A year ago today my family landed in Orlando, checked into Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs and headed straight to Galaxy's Edge. We were so excited to be there on opening day! In fact, this remains one of our favorite Disney memories! . . This was the day Hurricane Dorian was finally set to arrive and there were still a lot of unknowns. Dorian moved so slowly that it had threatened our trip from even before we left Texas and, six days later, it was finally arriving. 🌀 . . Crowds were so low, and of course Dorian ended up just grazing Orlando. But, on this morning, with the winds finally starting to pick up and the true extent of Dorian still unknown, we glimpsed this 🌈 above the Hollywood Tower Hotel on our walk from Yacht Club. It was a perfect reminder to just breathe. Slow down. Enjoy the moment. Take it all in. ♥️ . . Each trip has a memory that becomes the defining moment of that particular trip. Sometimes it's an event, or a special meal. Other times it's the entire, fantastic day. This day would end up being that defining moment of our 2019 trip. It's such a fun and unique experience for kids (and parents). Before our first trip, I was concerned that they might be overwhelmed either during the wait or the show itself. To be sure they would know what to expect, we talked about the process and watched YouTube videos (a pro tip for kids with special needs before any Disney trip!). In the end, they both did AMAZING and can't wait to do it every trip! Do your kids love Jedi Training, too?
