Got to love peeling some plastic. Big thank you to the @thomasandthomasflyrods Team in Greenfield for getting this build done to spec for me. The #Avantt2 proved to be an absolute sniper. I’m fishing the 906 paired with SA’s Amplitude smooth Trout Taper line. The rod has exceptional feel and performs regardless of what situation presented itself. With a steady 15mph breeze, I could effortlessly paint the fly in close or carry 60-70” without ever feeling a change in the rod’s integrity. It responds quick and has an endless energy reserve that allows one to really reach out and accurately put the fly on target. 906s have become my primary Dry Fly Rod as materials have continued to get lighter and improve. While I’m fishing 3-4x mostly they will buffer 6x and are significantly more capable when it comes to early season weather and water levels. We were able to have the Avant, Avantt 2 and Paradigm all in 906, on the boat with us and were really able to see where eat one shines. With so many options in the market Today, T&T still remains leaps and bounds beyond the competition when it matters most, on the water everything is out of one’s control. New River report is up, click the website link on our Bio page. Just got the email: there reducing the dam release from 316 CFS to 180 CFS. Combined with the Still River, the flow in the permanent TMA/catch & release will be mid to upper 300cfs range, an excellent level for fishing, wading, and should provide more rising trout. The Hendrickson hatch is still solid from approximately New Hartford (where UpCountry is) up to about the junction with the Still River (Pipeline/Lyman’s Rock). Warm weather this week should push the bottom end of the hatch further upstream and I suspect you’ll see it pushing into Riverton above the River this week as water temps rise. Look for rising trout during the afternoon Hendrickson hatchatch and during spinner falls, the nymphing has been very consistent with a variety of patterns, and streamer fishing has also been productive.
