Early entry at Epcot to see the new Moana Journey of water 🌊, tour of the world of nature aquarium 🐟🐬🦑 (I think my sea life passion definitely shows here 😁). We stroked around the whole of World Showcase, had Lunch at the Space 220 lounge 🛰️🌎, was it good or bad?! After a much needed nap we headed off to deluxe resort extra hours at Magic Kingdom until close! Tron night time ride and a very empty park. Aujourd’hui, séquence “Archives” et émotion ! Alors que le monde était quasiment à l’arrêt, le parc Magic Kingdom rouvrait ses portes en Juillet 2020. Et nous étions là ! Since Hurricane Ian seems to have Orlando in its sights, in throwing it back today to Hurricane Irma in September 2017. Our last park day before the parks closed for the Hurricane was definitely the most eerie day we've spent in the parks. Thank goodness park reservations didn't exist back then - we were supposed to do Typhoon Lagoon on this day, and then Animal Kingdom the next day. Instead, we had to fly "home" (the only flight we could find was to Chicago, not STL, so my mom drove a long round trip to bring us home) a day early. We skipped Typhoon Lagoon and did AK a day early instead. EVERYTHING was a ghost town. Pandora had opened less than 6 months earlier, and was typically swarming with people. We got many pictures of it totally empty. Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls Trek were devoid of other people. Harambe Market had one other family there during peak lunch hours. We walked on to Navi River Journey and Kilimanjaro Safaris. Hopefully Ian will avoid Orlando this week, and those that visit the parks will have some enjoyable days with low crowds!

Did you know??? WDW parks stay open long after official park close. Especially EPCOT, where folks have late dinner reservations. On our most recent visit, EPCOT closed at 9, when Harmonious started. And most people cleared out as soon as the show finished. But the Skyliner stayed open until 10:30 ... so it's quite easy to linger in the park. Food and attractions and most shopping will be closed ... but for those of us that are fans of environment and place-making and ambiance and music - this is THE time to explore the parks. By the time I got to Japan at 9:50, I basically had the place to myself. I love this pavilion - I think it's the most photogenic of all. And that's amplified at night.
