I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Everyone always says itโs good to catch up with friends often especially for your mental health, and itโs true. I love being able to catch up with friends and I used to be a really social person. But since my chronic illnesses have taken over so much of my life, every time I catch up with friends now itโs listening to how much they can do as an able bodied person and I am always left feeling such an extreme guilt for not being able to do as much as them and I think to myself oh my god why am I not doing all the things like them? Then I have to remind myself I live with multiple chronic illnesses and Iโm doing the best I can and Iโm finally reaching some goals. I have to remind myself that they arenโt living with chronic illnesses and I wonder what life would be like for them if they were. I have to remind myself to be so god damn proud of where I am now, and for having made it through these past few years. I have to remind myself that maybe one day, my health will be better and I will be able to do all the things again. Periods are not meant to be painful and disrupt your life! So recognising the symptoms of endometriosis is very important, however unfortunately for many of us trying to get diagnosed can be a difficult process ๐ญ Speaking from my own experience it took me over ten years to get professionals to listen to me, it took me to be in a car accident which led me to have a CT scan done which showed up a cyst on my left ovary which then led me to be finally referred to a gynaecologist, however when I seen the gynae he didnโt believe I had endo but got the shock when he operated on me, endo was found on both ovaries, my bladder, behind my uterus and on my bowel. I wanted to share what vitamins I am talking to help with my endometriosis symptoms. I have only been taking these vitamins since I had my surgery which has been just over three weeks and let me tell you so far they have been working. I am usually a 5 day ๐ฉer but since taking these vitamins I have been ๐ฉ every single day sometimes even twice and yes I can say this has also made me cry (anyone else like this over small improvement ๐โโ๏ธ) because I donโt have that awful feeling of constipation. I believe the magnesium and zinc is helping that from what I have researched anyways ๐ The peppermint capsules have been helping a lot with they gas from my surgery and is leaving me feel less bloated then I would have been pre operation so I am taking that as a win as well ๐ Vitamin C helps with the inflammatory response and immune stimulator effects in Endometriosis. My period is due in the next week and I can say I havenโt had any severe pain usually at this point I would be in agony in bed with my hot water bottle, heat pad/patches and dosed up on pain meds that would do sweet F*ck all. The Turmeric and ginger shots also help with the inflammatory response to help reduce any inflammation caused by the endo. I take the multivitamin just to help boost my overall immune system I am also took this even before my surgery as I am prone to cole sores and colds/flus. The Endo Support Supplements from @wildnutritionltd helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue, iron loss, hormonal support, and maintenance of liver I can say that I have defo found a big difference in my tiredness as usually half way through the day Iโd be tired and could sleep the clock round buts thatโs not the case at minute but might be a different story when I go back to work I will keep you posted on that one โ๏ธ I also take a CBD oil from @trip.drinks itโs not a vitamin but I find it helps me reduce my stress when I am in pain, I had horrible gas pain from the surgery and it helped me not stress about the pain which could have made it worse. Some quotes today from the media release regarding the changes to the MBS for consultations surrounding Endometriosis. "From 1 July 2025, two new items will be added to the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) enabling extended consultation times and increased rebates for specialist gynaecological care. These items will ensure women receive timely and appropriate assessments and are no longer left waiting for critical diagnoses and treatments. This $49.1 million investment from the Albanese Government will provide approximately 430,000 more services to help women across the country with complex gynaecological conditions to receive consultations of 45 minutes or longer. These two new MBS items will provide a higher fee for longer initial gynaecologist consultation ($168.60 for a minimum of 45 minutes, compared to the standard rate of $95.60), and a higher fee for longer subsequent consultations ($84.35 for a minimum of 45 minutes, compared to the standard rate of $48.05)." Hopefully this means less being forced out the door without even beginning to touch on symptoms with specialists. I'm not sure it will have a marked difference on our upfront costs (which in one case was over $400 for me for a first consult ๐ฅฒ). Sooo we know that endo has been found in every major organ and one common place for deep infiltrating endo in particular, is this small area between the uterus and the rectum called the Pouch of Douglas. Other names for it include rectouterine pouch or cub-de-sac. According to Endometriosis Australia, surgery for a completely obliterated Pouch of Douglas can be quite challenging. It requires freeing all the pelvic organs and removing all the disease and scarring. Patients with endometriosis affecting the pouch of Douglas can suffer from painful periods, bowel symptoms (like painful bowel motions), infertility and painful intercourse. Bowel Endometriosis have you been told you have it? During my surgery they had found it behind my uterus and on my bowel, unfortunately they couldnโt remove it during that surgery as they had not made me aware of the risks going a head with that part of the surgery. My surgeon said that I will see him and his team again in three months time and get MRI scans done to get a more in depth look into my bowel to see if it is in my bowel. He is willing to do the bowel surgery after the MRI scans and my BMI is down. Have you had Endo on your bowel?
