wherever,⁠ whenever,⁠ i'm always happiest when I'm with you ♡⁠ _____________________⁠ ⁠ I wanted to share a house update with you guys.⁠ ⁠ Our initial offer on a house got accepted about a week ago. We got some home inspections done, and it revealed some safety issues (i.e., asbestos, mold, exhaust leaks) that would need to be fixed - and this shed some doubt on our decision.⁠ ⁠ This doubt grew when I learned about a recent shooting in the area, and though it seemed like a one-off occurrence, it was something I couldn't shake off.⁠ ___⁠ ⁠ We ended up terminating the sale, and are back to actively visiting houses and searching for the right fit again.⁠ ⁠ We lost a bit of money on home inspection and appraisal fees, but I'm glad to put this behind us, and not be stuck in a 5-10 year commitment somewhere I don't feel safe.⁠ ⁠ We still have several weeks to go, and I'm still hopeful that we'll find "the one" that's got everything we want. wish us luck 😅🍀⁠ _____________________⁠ ⁠ canon eos R6⁠ canon 24mm⁠ ⁠ iso 100 / f 2.8 / 1/1600 sec⁠ _____________________⁠ ⁠ Don’t want to miss our posts? We spent yesterday wandering around Bar Harbor so that we can spend tomorrow hiking in the park. We knew that we would want to see ALL the things so we divided it up. Bar Harbor town is a beautiful place. I didn’t get a ton of pictures because we spent the day meandering around and reconnecting with some old friends I hadn’t seen in 20 years. What a blessing. Heather and I picked up like it was 1999 again and just had the BEST day. We started off looking for rocks along the sandbar. It’s only accessible at certain times of the day due to the tides. I was so glad to learn that Heather likes rocks like I like rocks. Thank goodness our guys had each other for company because we were in rock heaven!!! If you are wanting interesting, unique souvenirs that are well priced, I highly recommend Sailor and Hook. They have everything from real used lobster buoys to license plates to used signal flags. Excellent prices and neat real world items. We ate lunch at Geddy’s and really enjoyed exploring the shops and the architecture of all the old buildings. Rob even found an adult sized rocking horse. 🙄Of course he did. We can’t wait to go back and do some serious hiking, but I have a feeling we will also be spending some time in town as well. We witnessed the first sunrise at the top of the Cadillac Mountain which is the highest point on the east coast of the U.S. It was windy, freezing cold and foggy at the summit, while patiently waiting for the sunrise.
