The Baha'i House of Worship. It was such an honour and pleasure to be invited to see this magical piece of architecture, last weekend. Immediate immense pride for my architect mate on conjuring this up. Upon seeing it for the first time, it gave kinda like a bee hive effect. Upon seeing it closer and having heard the work done on different aspects of the temple, it is truly breathtaking. The wooden panels that lined the arcs of the entrances were hand carved by a local artist. The white part of the interior walls are painted iron plates that's woven together. I'm even fascinated by the glass windows, that changes colours depending on the lighting of the day. Of..and they're somehow in different shapes, while maintaining uniformity. The last thing I noticed, was the ingenious way that the structure was built. As it rests a top of an uneven hill. I would've pulled my hair out...if I were designing this. Being OCD...I wouldn't be able to handle uneven ground. But the building of this was so well thought of, with the different parts of the building having different number of steps or elevation. As well as the solid light weight foundation, that grips the whole structure in place. I was even told that they did simulations against a number of natural extremities, to ensure that no stones are left unturned. Really2 enjoyed the visit.
