What a wonderful and proud day for so many of our families. Today we had our Mansfield show at Portland College. Headlined by our Mansfield Dance Warriors groups, both junior and senior, it showcased some amazing dancing from all the dancers. They were joined, in the show, by ‘Sing & Sign Together’, our NDSSG Makaton choir. And 13 of the Nottingham Dance Warriors joined the Mansfield Warriors to perform a special rendition of the Fight Song. Thanks go to all our wonderful dancers, Lianne the dance teacher and all the amazing volunteers, without whom the groups wouldn’t function. And also to Jess and all the members of the choir. Refreshments were provided by the mums, including some beautiful homemade cakes At the end, we drew a raffle that some of the mums had organised, with 43 prizes! Sicken helg ändå! Mamma har varit i Stockholm på årsmöte med @svdownforeningen Hon har fått fortsatt förtroende av medlemmarna i landet att sitta kvar i Riksstyrelsen under ytterligare 2 år.. Grattis till henne! Och övriga styrelsen så klart! Själv har jag hängt med pappa och Meja hela helgen. Varit ute och snickrat och tittat på pappa som fixat mer i Mejas lekstuga. I sommar kommer hon kunna sova där.. om hon vågar vill säga! Vi har haft spontanbesök av mammas gamla kollega som hade vägarna förbi. Trevligt för oss men tråkigt för mamma som missade! So far we have 30 beautiful children and young people from the Northeast and Cumbria who have participated in our little campaign. I am hoping to exhibit the work and create a book that can be available to everyone. It would include the images and some words from each family about their child, their lives after diagnosis, their expectations and the impact their child has had on them and their family. I am still looking for more children to take part especially more different ethnicities and cultures. I would love a wide range of skin colours, disabilities, a set of twins and anything in between to promote diversity and inclusion. The easiest way to do this is by hosting a little group in your local area so we could photograph several children at once. I am willing to travel but I am self funding so if you aren’t local to me but could help fundraising/chip in towards the cost that would make it an easier/faster process. I could travel anywhere in the uk including wales, Scotland and Ireland. I am hoping to complete this over the summer and have it wrapped up for retouching in December. Caro vannacci , Sì l’ho scritto con la minuscola di proposito perché non ti meriti la maiuscola davanti al tuo nome, questa è mia figlia, che grazie alle classi inclusive, grazie a un percorso di integrazione, E ad un lavoro costante con persone che hanno come visione un mondo veramente inclusivo, a 24 anni è una giovane donna, che in autonomia prende un treno, prende un autobus, va a fare un tirocinio formativo in un noto albergo fiorentino, dove lavora insieme a dei suoi colleghi, normalissimi, cioè senza la sindrome di Down, e questi risultati li abbiamo ottenuti facendo tutto il contrario di quello che te pensi sia giusto fare, per come la vedo io se non avesse fatto il percorso che ha fatto, affiancata da un’associazione come @trisomia21firenze che sul territorio si occupa dei diritti delle persone con disabilità, dell’inclusione delle persone con disabilità, e della riabilitazione di persone con disabilità intellettive, sarebbe stata una giovane emarginata rifiutata dalla società e probabilmente rinchiusa in un centro per la salute mentale, come forse vedi te debbano essere trattate le persone con disabilità. My PT advised me to go half way, then stop and let him watch uninterrupted for a minute or two as a reward. Do a full circle right side and left side. If your baby will not move with a toy or a YouTube show you need to just manually use their arms to pivot for them. Sometimes, you have to show them the movement you want them to emulate if it doesn’t come natural. Savoy is military crawling now, and rocking his body in the crawl position. 1 Month in the Cranial Helmet- His results are coming along great. Originally, we were advised that it would be a 15-17 week time span. We are overjoyed that we may possibly be out of this thang in a couple of weeks. I miss the the cuddles with my baby’s warm head. Also, I have been knocked in the face with this helmet. I cry happy tears a lot these days. I cried a lot during my prenatal diagnosis days in 2020 and those tears weren’t so happy. I cried in 2020 thinking Down syndrome would mean the end. MISS DELAWARE TEEN USA 🌸INTERVIEW WEAR🌸 Kayla, Miss Dover Teen USA 2024, had her interview this morning. I asked her how it went…she said “I crushed it. I did my best and I’m so proud”. When telling me all about her interview, she said the judges asked her why she wants to be Miss Delaware Teen USA to which Kayla replied “I want to show the world people with Down syndrome can do anything”. Insert proud mom tears. 😭 Tomorrow is pageant day. Prayer requests… That Kayla is able to show up as the best version of herself and the judges see her confident, kind, bubbly and loving personality. For her to remain bubbly, present and excited throughout the entire day. It’s a lonnnnnng day (over 13 hours long). *When* (not if) she makes the finals that beautiful words flow through her to answer the on stage question with confidence.
