👃Have you seen people talking lately about scented blankets that release scents when they are scrunched next to your body? It's guaranteed that those blankets are artificially scented, and usually made from polyester derived textiles. If that makes you cringe or think of a migraine or asthma attack, you'll want to keep reading.... ⚠️Toxins exist in many household products that we touch, eat or breathe. So it should come as no surprise that bedding checks the box as well. A general consensus seems to be that around 70% of bedding manufacturers use a process or materials that insert various toxic substances into your bedding. This causes many allergy symptoms, respiratory and endocrine problems, and even cancer. And of all things, bedding would be the last thing we want to think about in this regard, but it's a fact. Should you panic? No, there’s no need to rip your sheets from your linen closet and start a fire in the backyard (especially if you have fire retardant sheets). For the most part, bedding doesn’t rank near the top of potential toxic dangers list for humans. But it is worth keeping in mind that your bed and your body (or your child's bed and body) share a space for at least 30% of your life.
