Inspired by my love of all things Victorian and the macabre.. my flying hourglass pieces. The Victorians celebrated their dead, and would adorn gravestones with symbolism- the flying hourglass being one of them. Depicted as rather plain hourglass with wings, it symbolised the swiftness of times passage - sometimes rather literally that it was flying with wings.
