Multilingual 28 x 20 cm - I conducted an exhaustive visual research during which I gathered preschool exercises aiming at training children to write and count (left pages), which I confronted with diagrams of jumping trails, or horse-riding workouts (right pages). Both corpuses emphasize control, discipline and repetition as means to complete predetermined trails as flawlessly as possible. This book proposes to show the ideological resonances between compulsory schooling and animal domestication. Here is a postage stamp I found one night when I became temporarily obsessed with collecting images of postage stamps on the internet. I know nothing about this stamp, but it feels oddly comforting to me at the moment. This could be because: 1. the deer reminds me of a magical moment I had on a boat in the middle of Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, discussing the significance of the spotted white deer statue on the shore of a tiny island with @kendraeolson back in 2009. 2. this appears to be a deer with purpose and a clear direction who goes the flow. 3. the color combination is wildly pleasing. . . . . #postagestamp #digitalcollecting #koreanpostagestamp #deer #foundimages #philately #stamps #stampcollecting @exploringstamps
