When mom says she’s ready to POP you better believe her!! I was impressed she was able to get on the ground as she felt him pretty low. This tiny guy made an early appearance and surprised the new parents a few weeks early! I was honored to be one of the first people to visit them during their hospital stay. I haven’t done a fresh 48 since my niece was born a few months before the world shut down in 2019. Let me just say…I can’t wait until the next one! You might think that snapping photos on your phone in the hospital will result in perfectly beautiful pictures, enough to document the event of your child's birth. From my experience, I can say—after the birth of my daughter, I had about 500 photos taken by a photographer who was not a professional in birth photography. A close friend did the shooting. Out of those 500 photos, I only saved and added two to Vera's birth album. Why so few? What happens if you don't have a professional photographer at the birth: 1. Unattractive Photos. Really, physically unappealing! The angles, lighting, and framing are critical for each moment. Missing the moment of the child's birth is a fail, not capturing the close contact between mother and child is a fail, failing to capture the atmosphere when the baby is handed to the father is a fail... I could give a million such examples. 2. Incomplete Capture of the Event. A photographer who has no clue about the birth photography process (and relatives fall into this category too) will shoot haphazardly, missing important details and stages that are significant for the mother. You might say, "Oh, but my husband took photos in the maternity ward, and I love them!" And I would respond, "You only love them because you don’t have others, and that’s the only one you’ve got." We spend so much money on utterly unnecessary junk for newborns! And invest so little in what truly matters and grows in value every year! Or is it just me—have my values become skewed because of the war? Maybe indeed, a diaper "cake" and a million outfits that last at most two weeks are important? Gdybym powiedziała, że kwiecień mnie przeszurał po ziemi, to tak jakbym nic nie powiedziała 🫣 To był tak aktywny miesiąc, że w sumie nie wiem kiedy minął… A przy tym tak dużo się wydarzyło, że mam wrażenie, że trwał pół roku. Wrażenia te na pewno podbiła również pogoda-od zimy do lata, od lata do zimy-i tak w kółko, zaledwie w 30 dni!🫣😂 Ale właśnie zapakowaliśmy samochód💪🏻 Tylko raz się z trasy wracaliśmy do domu🙃 I ruszamy na majówkę!😎 Pogoda, o dziwo😂 (tfu, tfu żeby nie zapeszyć🫣), ma nam dopisać. This little guy was less than 24 hours old when I showed up at the hospital to photograph him. Mom & Dad said they had barely even seen his eyes open yet. He did indeed sleep through the entire session, and he looked super cute doing it. And for those of you who might be curious, a Fresh 48 Session is when a photographer comes to the hospital to take photos of your baby (and you) right after the baby is born!
