Hồi đó lịch làm việc của mình tréo nghoe, người ta làm thì mình nghỉ, người ta nghỉ thì mình chẳng thu xếp được, nên rủ rê một hồi, đụng thằng nhỏ mới hợp cạ hôm đi Đà Lạt. Hôm đi Đà Lạt, thấy mình cầm máy chụp hoài, nó đòi chụp cho mình vài tấm, và cơ bản cũng biết bấm máy thế nào. Hôm chụp áo dài, mình chỉ thêm vài kiến thức cơ bản nữa, thế là có nguyên bộ hình. Người ta nói cuộc đời là những cơ duyên. Và Xuân Thủy bắt đầu với những cơ duyên training cho người ta chụp bằng Canon từ đó.
