I intentionally prepare to push through the desire to hit snooze, because I know that by doing so, I'll only feel sluggish and out-of-sorts. ☮️ Plan my first hour of Monday morning. Whether it's to read, exercise, pray, or enjoy my coffee in silence before the chaos begins. Having a plan for Monday morning sets the right tone for my entire week. It’s almost April, Covered Family! Will you join me over the next couple of days and create/review your April goals? Here are a few tips: 1. Pray! Ask God to lead you, guide you, and speak to you on what your focus should be. 2. Reflect on the first quarter of the year. How did you do? What did you complete and what needs to be continued? 3. Don’t overwhelm yourself. If your guilty of overcommitting and being a little unrealistic, choose at most 3 main goals to focus on in April. You can always have a few backups if you complete those soon, but decide what is priority. 4. Lastly, implement SMART goal planning. 🤍S- specific: get super concise on what it is that you will get done. 🤍M- make it measurable: how will you know that it’s accomplished and how will you measure your progress. 🤍A- make it achievable: what steps are you taking to get it done. 🤍R- is it relevant: Why are you setting this goal now? Is it time to tackle this? 🤍T- Timely: when is your deadline (make sure it’s realistic). ENJOY setting your goals! Get excited about it! Be bold and stretch yourself a little! You’ll never get what you want if you don’t plan for it. Like, really, really, plan for it. You can’t just think the life you want will fall out of the sky. You have to map it out. You have to write it out and you have to believe it with everything inside of you. Sure, we’re all busy. Some, more than others but giving yourself and your life a little bit of structure keeps you from losing your marbles when life continues piling task after task on top of your shoulders. Something I’m learning to do is juggle life in a COVID world and life in the fitness world. I want this life. I want every single thing that comes my way but you know what? I planned for it. Plan for the unexpected. Plan for the expected. Plan for the unusual that will fall somewhere in between! Be able to adjust when the curveball comes flying your way. I’ve neglected my planner these past few months. Freedom feels good but what feels better is having a groove to get back into. With work starting up again, I need to be able to see what’s not just happening tomorrow but what’s happening 2 weeks from now. Organization is one of the many keys to success and a clutter free mind. If planning isn’t your thing or you’re just unsure of how to begin… first, write down what is is you want to achieve right now, tomorrow, and before the year end. The next step is just implementation… what are the necessary steps you need to make that happen? And if you don’t have any goals… thats great too!
