Never Miss A Monday! I did do a couple of miles outside this morning but it’s just so darn cold 🥶 Medal Monday - one day I’ll show all 8 medals but for now I’m still reminiscing individual races. Todays highlight is Disney World 10k. I dressed as my favorite Minnie in her original role - Steamboat Minnie. I think one remembers different races for different reason. And individual races are special in different ways. The Joy of running a race is hard to explain. This race was a wonderful mix of joyful moments and special friends throughout the course. I started with all my besties .. and a few character stops. When I entered EPCOT, I ran into a friend Stacey Sneider Luetmer and her daughter Adrianna and their guide Amanda Scoville. They called me into a character stop and I ended up finishing the race with them. It was pure happiness watching the joy on Adrianna’s face as her mom pushed her through EPCOT. It was just purely living in the moment , being present and taking it all in. This race will always have a special place in my heart. I’m frozen and it make take me days to thaw out after my 5 mile walk in the 18 degrees. But it was nice to be back out on the pavement after my 2 week Coast to Coast Adventure. I’m still sorting through photos. I’m taking it back today to Disney World 5k. This was such a fun race through EPCOT with the best group of women that I’m happy to call friends!! We are representing Minnie Mouse - rocking the dots, celebrating the Disney 100th with our lavender and silver, a little Mickey Mouse Club with our names, and we are the best group of cheerleaders that you can find. The Disneyland California half marathon concluded my quest for the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge, and the Coast to Coast Challenge. A half marathon partly through Disneyland and DCA and about 8 miles through the city of Anaheim. I was concerned about so many miles on the highway but it really wasn’t as bad as I had expected. I’m not a runner that watches or tracks time. I crossed the finish line with a PR and didn’t realize it until later in the day. I stopped at 3 characters and most of the street mile markers. Took pictures in the parking lot of the Anaheim Ducks and the Angels Stadium. Videoed the fancy cars. And stopped at the UP House. I had a small rock in my shoe, I pulled over to the side of the rode near the beginning of the race but couldn’t get it out. The next day, I found the rock still in my shoe. The announcer called me “Team Dots” when I crossed the finish line. This costume was supposed to be my Disney World Half Marathon costume …. Part of my Minnie Mouse weekend but due to stormy weather I switched it up. I’m finally home from my 2 week Coast to Coast RunDisney Adventure. It was a long 2 weeks, a ton of miles, crazy weather but in the end - lots of shenanigans and smiles. I had a 4 hour flight and used the time looking at photos and reflecting on the whole adventure. Here are just a few from Disneyland. It was my first visit and surely a bucket list item. Flashback Friday 5k version I just want to take a moment to say that I’m extremely Thankful to all my Friends that so graciously put up with my costume planning and all the shenanigans!! Never Miss A Monday!! I’m channeling my own made up challenge for Marathon Weekend and Disneyland, Cal. Sadly I’m not doing Dopey 🥲🥲 but I am doing the 5k, 10k, and half for Marathon Weekend and then flying to Disneyland for the 5k, 10k, and half. I’m calling my Challenge….. Happy to Dumbo!! Happy is the dwarf that decided not to do the marathon portion because she’s never been to Disneyland !! Overall it is still a total of 44.8 miles and 8 medals. (Includes the Coast to Coast Medal). Hello Saturday!! The #TEAMSPARKLE Photo Challenge has been happening all week …. So I’m playing catch up 1. Fav #medalmonday - I have two … my first half marathon in 2019 in Disneyland, Paris and my first marathon/ Dopey in 2022. 2. Why I Run? Because I can, because it’s fun, and because of friendships 3. #teamsparkle BRFs. I have way too many Best Running Friends to name. But a shout out to my partner in crime, Thing One & Thing Two, Pamela Diedrich ! It’s all special 4. Fav Costume Pic I have too many to name. But I do judge my costume by how it makes me feel. I like a costume / character that makes me feel great and special. I really like unique costumes but gotta love my group costumes. 5. Finish line feeling.
