Writers Block Rolling thunder reverberates across the plains of my soul. As I choke on silent treatment, words throw at me turning frigid. I nudge, coax even persuade, phrases appear to fade in garble. Sharp intense ache grows aged into panic screaming heartbreak. Line after line I try to trim pretty. Shuffling, words as if a puzzle; that refuses to piece into place. Thoughts flow in and out freely, sneering at my sweating attempts. My poem turns paper thin bitter. I jostle to frame into a body. I cannot let go not now or ever. I keep going back and forth. Resolve from within breaks only to restore stronger each time. These are my words - every breath whispers to battle on till the end. I squirm, shudder end shattered. The bleakness of it swallows me. As if I am drowning desolation grows. Quivers stop for pace steadies in. The flow embraces meaning thick. Words warm under my thoughts, like rain on desert land ending drought. The skies clear and my soul colours even.
