RESURRECTION I am the tree you just murdered my hair fell like bear fur my skull grew green leaves I threw my limbs in the fire my body grew branches to hold the leaves below the sod I whisper with the trees roots further below where fossils sing angels listen to their words of fire I was born extinct but I prevailed I didn't need pity nor your false words like the sound of the shrill of glass in the subsoil I live there like a blizzard in the December sky. Once I was blind now I see I couldn't touch now I grip at the trees bark to gather me you must open your senses I live there buried deep into the earth not unrisen yet waiting for the sun to set I am of darkness the rustle of snow the sky is a blizzard in my eyes I do not exist where you are I live in the final city below trees roots surrounded by the holy fire soon I'll resurrect in burning flames extinct yet awake I am the dormant stone under your pillow - your dreams belong to me. highdeation My mind, staffed by ghoulish nightmares, creeping creatures, crawling death. Ideation bellows bleakest thoughts. Loss, griefโbeing last and left behind. Windows; grey squares of sluggish light compound my misery. Outside, the rain is sideways, beating at the leaves beading on washing lines. Wet paving reminds me of gravestones: some too fresh in memory, some too long ago to forget. There are too many windows and too many memories. Too much dead light desecrating my mind. Then youโ you bring me back to the room. The whole universe kindling in Celtic blue hues. Your smile, high as a kite in heaven. Joy perched on your lips, ready to be triggered into laughter. Little monkeys, you and I. Mommyโs cheeky boys. โWhat are you two up to?โ The blackness ceases its swallow. My heart bounces back to light. Warmer thoughts. Softer memories.
