"Do you wanna go somewhere else, Perhaps to an unknown land that reeks of magic, Where we could read our books all day And drink coffee and wine that makes our heart sweeter" . Yashika Vahi's Psychos and Poets explores the myriad emotions of despair and agony, hatred, desperation, chaos and introspection too. This is my 2nd poetry book from Yashika's, and her compositions are mainly based on the dark theme of love, life and relationship. Within the book, we could witness the unsettling bond between the mother-daughter duo, the two lovers and fate. Her unfiltered expression symbolizes boldness, audacity, and acceptance, which is obviously not normalized yet. Because all the things cannot be bright and beautiful, someone has to take the stand and spill the beans. The poems in her book are styled in free verse, and not following any fixed pattern. Apart from the content and the emotions she had poured into writing, I wasn't able to comprehend all that is being said. Moreover, without a title at the beginning of each poem made it somewhat less intriguing. The relatable content, however, kept me going with the pages.

The insecurity of someone following you with your every step threatens, and the realisation of scaring yourself is suffocating, 'cept when you scare yourself with your own bubble of insecurities at midnight. . Delhi doesn't allow us to walk alone peacefully after 11, but Delhi surely made us overthinkers, with our thoughts walking down the lane 24Γ7. . One such night, and with no such intent My thoughts again walked a bit longer. With every little step my memory made, my lips smiled a bit wider. My forebrain, midbrain and the hindbrain were painted slightly black, with some textures of white, making it grey, just like my thoughts, and the granite of the sketch that my fingers caressed. *Flash* 15 December 2020, The granite of the pencil used was perfectly carved, beautifying my not so pretty face. The strands of my hair left open felt too original that I wanted to move it away from my forehead, My under eye bags were still there, and they seemed too delicate to glamorise. Though, the ends of the canvas were too deep to get me a bleeding cut. He isn't really a gift person, and preparing gifts is overrated, as he claims, so maybe that's the reason I got my first handmade gift from him in nearly 4 years. . As I allow my thoughts to wander, I realised, I was walking a road with no end. Road, which took me to an immortal world Maybe that's what I wished for. Your prayers do get fulfilled, but when you no longer need it. *Flash* I held a rose, but I could only see the thorns beneath. Roses were never fascinating for me, rather I never knew how to hold them, I still don't. I once prayed for solace and peace, and now all I am filled with is emptiness. I never knew the feeling of void before, but now we are such good friends that I don't want to share it with you. . She is shy, her hair loosely curled at the edges, her heart slightly scratched in the middle. She is quiet, her silence defining deafening sounds, her head playing roars of battles. She sees him, her head lightly nods in a greet, his heart beats heavily nudge him. She is awkward, her anxiety playing the upper hand, her sanity trying to fight through the security anxiety put. She calms down, his pathetic jokes puzzling her, his flashy smile making her dizzy. She laughs, a hymn melodiously fills the air, a smile sweetly tugs at his lips. She shakes her head, her loose curls agreeing with her, her rosy cheeks biding good-bye now. She is quiet again, his mind trying to contemplate her thoughts, hers trying to shut the anxiety in the basement again. She takes a deep breath, his eyes falling onto hers, his heart shrinking into a sad smile. She looks away, but the voids in her eyes stay, but the thudding of his chest remains. She leaves, his thoughts still on her eyes, his pain trying to catch up to hers. She turns back, her heart still in her mouth, her fear still visible in her sweaty palms. She walks away faster, feeling his eyes piercing through her back, feeling as if her soul is on display. She disappears, he still remembers the horrors he witnessed, he still holds her grief on his sleeve. She never returns, he hates her absence, he hates her scent still lingering around. But most of all he hates the emptiness he saw in her eyes.
