I STILL CALL AUSTRALIA HOMEโฆ. It had been 5 years since I had been home and I definitely felt disconnected from the land and its beauty. It took me a week or so to settle into the groove but Jesus I wasnโt expecting to be blown away but how unbelievably breath taking Australia really is. I definitely took that for granted growing up. Byron Bay has always held a special place in my heart but when we went back this time around I could feel the energy of the land. The bush and nature has revived me. Living in London is amazing and you canโt compare the two but it has given me a great appreciation and gratitude to call this beautiful land home. Thank you ๐. I also want to take this chance to give thanks and respect to the First Nations people. I feel a great sadness around how Australia came into existence, I hope one day we can create change and do what needs to be done to make amends and move forward in the right way. This trip was a reminder of what is truly important in this life. Sometimes you need to step away to see what really matters. Until next time โฅ๏ธ. I had the privilege of capturing this shot of a grey kangaroo at Geehi Campground, nestled deep within Kosciuszko National Park. It was a misty dawn on the plain in this secluded river valley when, to my surprise, at least thirty roos emerged to graze on the native grasses. For some weird reason, I never felt this when I was living in the Philippines. This is why I tell everyone that I love living in Australia. People tend to respect you better here or, if not, mind their own business and not make random rude comments about my physical appearance just because they feel like it or because that's just how they say hi. They certainly take any kind of abuse, harassment and/or racial discrimination seriously here. I liked living in the Philippines it certainly made me be kinder, smarter, stronger, and more grateful for what my life is like now. But, I'm proud to say I LOVE LIVING IN AUSTRALIA. I love that I am safe, I am protected, I have rights, and I get reminded of these rights, be it for my personal life or for work. I also love that I get so many opportunities here and a lot of them free. I believe that this is how we should celebrate Australia Day.
