Wed 24th April Lots of rain in the night was the first for ages. Had a drive out to Clarence Point and Kelso Bay. Up then to Greens Point and The Narawntapu Lookout. It was blowing gale and freezing up there. Later we drove to Beauty Point and had a fish n chips lunch. Back at Keith-would you believe the guy in the next caravan was from Luton where I was born! And even went to the same school!Terry Payne. Small world.

📍 Ted Errey Nature Circuit via Anakie Gorge - Brisbane Ranges National Park VIC Australia - Hike is rated moderate by All Trails My Opinion -Difficulty ⭐⭐⭐ The beginning of the hike sees you climbing up a very steep and rocky path which will take around 30 minutes, after this there are a few more steep pinches but the trail remains mostly flat with gradual descents for the remaining hike -Time Of Year: April (Autumn) -Start Time: 6:41am -Time: 3 Hours 20 Minutes -Length: 12.95km -Starting Elevation: 199m -Ascent: 358m -Popularity On Day: ⭐ I came across one other hiker during the circuit. -Weather: Clear and beautiful autumn morning, slightly chilly at times. Average of 10 degrees -Start: Anakie Gorge Picnic Area -Route: Follow the path through the park gate and along a 1km track before turning left to the beginning of the climb and completing the circuit in a clockwise direction. -Overall: 7.5/10 -The walk begins following a wide and flat path at the base of the gorge with amazing rock faces dwarfing you, short rock hops over little creeks and plenty of wildlife to see. Shortly after you begin the climb which is steep, decently long and at some points a bit challenging but you are rewarded with incredible views as you make your way to the top. From the top of the climb you walk a flat ridge line path to a few different lookouts taking in different views of the Brisbane Ranges and a very small Melbourne city on the horizon. From the final look out you begin descending a fairly steep track with some loose rocks and big steps. This path is undulating with a few short climbs before turning off and following a flat path to check out the dam wall and reservoir. Turning around here and following the path back to the beginning of the circuit and on to the carpark where the hike began. This hike is not pram or wheelchair accessible with no dogs or horses permitted in the national park . Need a guide?? Fogbow by Matt This photo is of a fogbow over Lake Moogerah in Queensland. It was the first time I had ever seen that phenomenon, and I have seen it probably twice since. Apparently some people even refer to them as ghost rainbows. With them being so rare I'll try and capture any fogbow I see, although reflections of our sun called Sun Dogs are highest on the optical weather illusion bucket list. There’s waterfalls, rainforest, bush land, stunning views, cliffs, valleys, mountains, caves and a canyon. 📍 Porters Pass and Colliers Causeway - Porters Pass Recreational Reserve in Blackheath NSW (Blue Mountains). 📏 4.2km circuit hike 🐶 Dog friendly trail 🥾 Trail can become very wet after rain, so I would suggest hiking boots for this one. 📸 Highlights of the trail include Lamberts Lookout, Centennial Glen and Fort Rock.

AU / The Anangu have effectively stopped going to their sacred places in Uluru because of visitors. And this is not the only place that is sacred in the region. Uluru forms a straight line with two other sacred places, the Kata Tjuta domes and Attila (Mount Conner). Kata Tjuta, a beautiful formation of 36 domes, is located around 30 kilometers west of Uluru. The Anangu believe it can only be seen by their own men. There is absolutely no known creation story or teaching originating at the Kata Tjuta domes outside Aboriginal society. I will probably never know one, neither will you. It is so important that these remain off limits, and that it remains unseen by Anangu women, that even the road leading to it was built so that you can cover one side of the vehicle and never catch a glimpse of the domes. A few amazing trails are available here. I did the valley of the winds trail and absolutely recommend it! 📍 Munglinup, WA We tried to avoid the worst of a windy weather window by heading west to Munglinup rather than to a beach camp. We didn’t escape the wind 😅 But we were at a beautiful little farmstay where they had 2 calves hanging in their backyard, the hosts were lovely and so accommodating.
