🚗 Day 7 and Mile 77 - Hitchhiking was a first for me on the Pacific Crest Trail, and what an adventure it turned out to be! As we crossed the road from our tent place near Scissors Crossing, a car miraculously pulled over, and an old man offered us a ride. It felt like fate, so we hopped in, grateful for the lift into Julian. 🗺️ The drive was filled with stories and laughter, a fun start to our day in town. We arrived early and headed straight to Mom’s Place, where we indulged in some delicious pie and coffee. Finally, I could charge my phone, a simple pleasure after days without power. 🥪 Lunch was next on our agenda, and we devoured sandwiches, the day out in the wilderness leaving us absolutely starving. ⛈️ With bad weather on the horizon, we made the decision to take a zero day in Julian. It was a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy the company of fellow hikers in our makeshift trail family.
