Beautiful week of Journaling with CIS teens, we lost a day to a typhoon but managed to go foraging for leaves and plants yesterday in Pak Kok Tsuen on Lamma Island. Sorting leaves by shade of green, lines, size, shape and structure, we began the “ Place in Time Journal with observational sketching using fine liners on a lightly water coloured surface. The afternoon saw us translating the sketches into Mandala Design motifs as people learned how to create an 8 x point mandala rotational design. Day off poorly from school means it's time to decorate the window for autumn! I have had these precut suncatcher leaves avaliable at craft fairs for a while now, would you guys like to see them online? Rose used them to make autumn leaves with kite paper. She then used her conker drilling kit, mobile base (all from @myriadmeetinghouse @myriadnaturaltoys ) and some nature finds we have gathered on the walk home this week, to create a lovely nature mobile in the window. I played around with combining beaded and embroidered elements with native eucalyptus leaves to create these A3 studies. They are my starting point for the new collection of pots I will be working on very soon. Having said that they are pretty cool as stand alone art pieces.
