LEGO June Challenge 4! I guess I am going with older sets that I like for the first week of the June Challenge. This is Deep Reef Refuge set #6441. One thing that sells LEGO for me is having an old set and then years later @LEGO makes a new set that is similar. That’s why I love Barracuda Bay and similar sets like that. I would love to add the new Ocean Exploration set to my collection someday! The last slide is one of my shelves and one idea I have is to make a top shelf above water and bottom below water! “Bat-Pod” • For day 4 of the #legojunechallenge I’m combining a VERY special set with #tbt • Set 5004590 Bat-Pod was a giveaway promo back in 2015, VIP members would be entered by DC purchases during the month or you could email in for entry. So I did my email entry, and forgot about it. A month or two later I get an email from Lego saying to reply with some info to claim my prize, so I did. A few weeks later this baby shows up on my doorstep. I could not believe I won! Probably the only thing I’ve ever won actually 🤣. There were only 1,000 made according to the postcard that came with it. It felt extremely cool to have one of these. Then they started to be sold, and the prices were staggering, to me, for a free, small Lego set. I had a hard time keeping it when my young family at the time could use the money, I mean it was a mortgage payment basically, so I ended up selling it and accepted the blessing that brought. Of course I got all these pictures first! Fabuland set, 3662, Double Decker Bus was produced by Lego in 1987. It contained 31 pieces, including a curved staircase. The set came with two Fabuland Figures, Mike Monkey and Hannah Hippopotamus. The set also featured a bench and street lamp with a topper element still found in new sets long after the demise of Fabuland in 1989. Fabuland was a Lego theme introduced in 1979 and was intended to bridge the gap between Lego Duplo and Lego System. Fabuland had a unique look, and used regular Lego bricks and specially designed elements. Young children could easily put together buildings and vehicles using the unique Fabuland elements such as walls, vehicle elements and roof pieces. Fabuland was the first Lego theme to have named characters and written stories about them. The larger sets included an instruction book that depicted the various characters building the set and when the set was completed it contained an additional story about the set and other Fabuland characters that were not found in the set.
