II by @akirathedon just made this a sublime time to put it together. Akira strikes again, with this musical adaptions of another chapter from one of the significant books ever written. I usually recommend the Meditations album(s) as an accessible introduction to stoicism and the writings of Marcus Aurelius. In terms of reading Meditations, there seems to be a wide agreement that the translation by Gregory Hays is best suited for most, with its lyrical translation in modern English. It's not very expensive; it can currently be found for a dollar on Amazon Kindle Library (for which you don't need an e-reader; you can download the Kindle app on your phone for free). This is not a book that you read once and check off your list. This is a book that sticks with you; that you can return to when astray. Its timeless wisdom is haunting and guiding. Ever since I understood what this book was; a private and genuine glimpse into the stoic mind of one of the most powerful men to walk the earth, I knew that I could never flee from the greatness it calls - greatness in the sense of fulfilling one's "form" as a divine being capable of "logos".
