Let’s all show our love for nature a little bit more, shall we? 🌲 I was recently accepted to join the ranks of the #WildKeepers at @keepnaturewild and in a whirlwind few days, I’ve become fully immersed. Today is our February #ImpactDay where we all share the trash we’ve cleaned up for the month (I started today and already picked up 12 lbs in an hour… that’s one entire Mishka of trash). 😳 I love nature and being out in nature, but I always find trash… I’ll be carrying my KNW biodegradable bags with me on the trails from now on to clean up when I can. If we all do a little bit, we can make a huge difference in keeping nature wild together! ✨🗑️ BULK PICK UP🗑️✨ . This past weekend we had our first cleanup of 2024 collecting 400lbs of trash/debris. We launched from the bonnet house and cleaned along the waterways and in the mangroves. . Mangroves forest can be found along the coast lines of tropical and subtropical environments like Florida. . Mangrove Forest and their prop root systems protect the coast line from erosion caused by storm surge, tides, currents and waves, and as we found trash. . They are also safe heavens for smaller organism looking for food and shelter from predators. . Within a Mangrove Trees life (est25yrs) removes around 308kgs of CO2 from our atmosphere. That’s more that’s around 10x more than most mature tropical forests. . High fives for team Maze Therapeutics! ✋ During their Give Back event, they meticulously cleaned the trails, the parking lot, and microplastic along the beach itself to keep trash from entering the ocean and our ecosystem. 🪣 In total, they collected 47 pounds of waste and 778 cigarette butts! Round of applause for Team @prometheus_apartments 👏 These Earth Heroes cleaned up Sharp Park last week, and it was a pretty intense morning out on the ocean with some huge waves! They were actually witnessing the remnants of Super Typhoon Bolaven which developed in the western Pacific Ocean. 🪣 As a team, they collected 18 pounds of trash, 1,185 cigarette filters, and 6 lbs. of recyclables!
