The Archaeological State Collection in Munich reopened today - with a new permanent exhibition designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER! The wait has come to an end: Today, the @asm.muc was reopened with a festive ceremony! Together with the Bavarian Prime Minister @markus.soeder and Minister of State @markusblume75, our Managing Director Shirin Brückner and Associate Partner Bernd Möller unveiled the newly designed permanent exhibition. More than 15,000 artefacts are showcased in meticulously designed themed rooms, each carefully conceived to immerse visitors in the rich archaeological history of Bavaria. From “Humankind” to “Death and Burial”, visitors experience archaeological narratives over 2 floors and 1,200 square metres of exhibition space. The basic design of each room is based on a square grid, given by the listed architecture, which has been extensively renovated by Nieto Sojebano Arquitectos. A sequence of light gaps and atriums divide the rooms and guide visitors on a unique archaeological journey. From prehistory to the present day, the Archaeological State Collection in Munich invites visitors to explore, discover and engage with different archaeological periods and regions through the displays of art, everyday objects and treasures. For the restoration of the historic staircase, the restaurators of Hirsch Ruett + partners took samples of different colour layers of the staircase walls in this historically preserved building. Over the years many layers accumulated in different parts of the building: walls, stairs, balustrades... Slim framed sliding doors were designed and installed at Warwick Hall, a historical Grade II listed Church in Oxfordshire. The glazed elements installed at Warwick Hall included slim framed windows, slim framed sliding doors, Structural glass balustrades as well as bespoke structural glass rooflights. This maisonette is part of a Grade II Listed Building, modernised by sliding glass doors with bespoke vertical glass louvres.
