Zum ersten Mal haben wir auf einer Reise Culloden besucht. Sowohl die Ausstellung im Visitor Center als auch die ausgedehnten Wege über das Schlachtfeld sind eindrücklich. Fahnen markieren die Stellungen der Truppen. Für uns erstaunlich, dass diese Schlacht nur eine Stunde dauerte und ihre Auswirkungen bis heute spürbar sind. (Stichwort Highland Clearances). Cawdor Castle hat auch eine interessante Geschichte, die zurück bis Robert the Bruce geht. Von all den vielen Schlössern, die wir im Laufe der Zeit besichtigt haben, strahlt dieses Schloss eine gewisse Gemütlichkeit aus. Die Gärten waren zum Saisonende dagegen etwas sich selbst überlassen. Ein Bild gibt es mal von unserem kleinen Wohnmobil auf dem Parkplatz von Cawdor Castle, mit wir für 7 Wochen durch Schottland reisen. Die Reise kannst du im Internet verfolgen. Den Link findest du in der Bio. Logie House and Gardens sind etwas abgelegen. Das Schloss ist in Privatbesitz und öffnet seine Gärten für Besucher. In den ehemaligen Stallungen befinden sich heute Galerien, ein Buchladen, Café und weitere Geschäfte. Der Umweg lohnt sich an einem schönen Tag. And a LONG overdue post for the bridesmaids - it only took so long because there were literally hundreds of photos to choose from (big shout to @veronicathemagnificent) If you'd told me years ago I would have 7 + 2/3 bridesmaids (shouts to baby Duller) I'd have confidently said "nobody likes that many people that much", but I can admit when I'm wrong. I LOVE these people. Almost two weeks ago I was guided to the aisle by a pack of LITERAL angels. Words fail to capture the magic these people have brought to my life and to the weekend. The fact that the wedding coordinator attempted to hire all of you says a lot. You made being a bride a breeze and my abs still hurt from laughing. From crafting the perfect playlist, to making sure there was a whiskey in my hand at the perfect moment, to distracting me with a windowsill photoshoot when I was impatient to rush down the aisle, and finally, for participating in the most epically competitive game of sardines ever played.
